Aware: “Number Of Technology-Facilitated Sexual Violence “More Than Doubled In 3 Years
The number of cases of “technology-facilitated sexual violence” has more than doubled over the past three years according to the Association of Women for Action and Research Awareness (AWARE) on Monday.
Around 15% of the cases AWARE’s Sexual Assault Care Centre (SACC) handled in 2018 were related to sexual violence, enabled by technology.

S’pore Authorities Nab $66,000 Worth Of E-vaporisers And Related Accessories
The authorities nabbed dozens of electronic vaporisers and thousands of related accessories over the duration of one week at the beginning of this month.
This was announced by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and Health Sciences Authority (HSA) in a joint media release on Tuesday (26 Nov).

POFMA Office Use ‘Fake News’ Law For The First Time & Asks Braw Bowyer To Edit Facebook Post
Opposition party member Brad Bowyer has been asked to make edits to his Facebook post which was made at the beginning of this month. The Facebook post questioned the independence of Temasek and GIC.
It is also the first use of the “Fake News” law. According to POFMA, “The Minister for Finance has instructed POFMA Office to issue a Correction Direction to Mr Brad Bowyer with regard to his Facebook post on 13 November 2019, 7.46am.”

Singapore Netball Team Beat Philippines 80-28 In Opening Game At 30th SEA Games
Singapore beat host Philippines 80-28 in their opening game at the 30th SEA Games on Monday. The match was held at the Laguna sports complex in Santa Rosa. The team last won gold in 2015.
The players, who spoke to Channel News Asia said that the players from Philippines and Singapore are “like long-time friends.”

ComfortDelGro Will Have Buses With Auto Emergency Braking As Part Of Its Private Fleet
Transport Operator ComfortDelGro Corp bought four Volvo buses fitted with collision warning and automatic emergency braking. These buses are the first of its kind in Singapore.

They will be in operation starting from 1 December 2019 and will comprise ComfortDelGro Bus’unscheduled bus services. The bus model is Volvo B8R and it is able to carry as many as 49 people. It will break automatically and stop when it “senses” a collision is about to occur.
