Fibre Cable Outage In North-eastern Singapore Fixed After 19 Hours
A 19-hour long service disruption affecting about 3,000 fibre broadband users in north-eastern Singapore was resolved at 11.07am on 29 September.
The outage was caused when a third-party contractor severed the fibre cables while performing sheet piling work along Yio Chu Kang Road, according to NetLink Trust.
In a Facebook post, Singtel revealed that a number of its customers in Punggol, Sengkang and Jalan Kayu had connectivity issues.

New Silver Challenge Walking Trails For Seniors So They Can Join National Steps Challenge
A new guided walking trail called ‘Silver Challenge’ was launched for seniors to encourage physical activity and healthy ageing.
It will feature iconic locations and nature parks in various parts of Singapore such as Tampines Eco-green.
Over the past four editions of the National Steps Challenge, the number of senior participants above 60-years-old has grown from 16,000 in 2015 to 140,000 in 2018.

Waterway Point Investigating Why Escalator Was Dislodged
The steps of an escalator in Waterway Point became dislodged on Saturday, 28 September at around 11.45am.
The steps on the escalator dislodged by itself and were out of order, which affected visitors at the mall. No injuries were reported.
The management is currently investigating the incident and liaising with the authorities.

Singapore re-elected To Council of UN Aviation Body ICAO
Singapore has been re-elected to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) on Saturday, 28 September.
In a Facebook post, Mr Khaw emphasised the importance of the aviation sector in Singapore. The Government and ICAO jointly offer a couple of fellowships to civil aviation officials to attend training programmes by Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA).
