Fewer HDB Resale Flats Sold In September As Prices Fall
In September, there were fewer Housing Board resale flats compared to in August. Prices for these HDB flats also continued to fall.
In summary, a total of 1,875 flats changed hands. This number was a 4.9% fall from the amount in August, according to estate portal SRX Property. The amount was published yesterday.
OrangeTee & Tie’s head of research and consultancy Christine Sun told The Straits Times that overall prices for resale flats can be expected to remain flat for the rest of the year.

$5m Tech Centre Set To Increase SMEs Energy Efficiency Will Be Launched By 2019
A tech centre to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to become more energy efficient will be launched in Singapore by 2019.
This was confirmed by Minister of Environment and Water Resources, Albert Chua. The centre will also be a training ground for developing energy assessment skills.
These are the Government’s latest initiatives to meet carbon emission targets.

Tuas Port Will Be World’s Largest Fully Automated Terminal When It Finishes Building in 2040
The new Tuas Port will use automated technology to carry out its operations. This is as Singapore sets to “reimagine its maritime industry.”
It will be the biggest fully automated terminal when it finishes building in 2040, with automated wharf and yard functions and fully automated electric guided vehicles.
The entire project will cost more than $20 billion.

STI Down 0.9% After Midday Break; Trade, Recession Fears
Singapore shares were negatively impacted after the United States opened a new trade war front with Europe. To make matters worse, underperforming US jobs data worsen fears of a recession.
The Straits Times Index decreased by 0.92% or 28.48 points on the day to 3,074.97 as at 1.03pm. Losers outnumbered gainers 198 to 95, after 472.1 million securities worth $354.3 million changed hands.

Yale-NUS Suspends Student Charged With Filming Upskirt And Shower Videos Of Women On Campus
According to Yale-NUS, the student charged with filming upskirt and shower videos of women on campus has been suspended since March. However, there was no mention of how long he will be suspended.
Court documents showed that the offences took place between August 2017 and 3 March this year. He used his iPhone to film women showering in the dormitory by placing the phone above the cubicle doors.
There were more than one victims, and not all have been identified.
