Two bars, Jigger & Pony and The Old Man Singapore entered the top 50 list for the first time at No. 29 and No. 38 respectively.

Overall, six Singapore bars made the list that was announced at the Roundhouse in London on Thursday, 3 October.

Atlas at Parkview Square kept its spot as number 8 and was crowned Best Bar in Asia.

Man Says He Isn’t Maserati Driver That Dragged Traffic Police Officer More Than 100m

The man accused of driving a Maserati was captured on video dragging a Traffic Police (TP) officer along Bedok Reservoir Road.

He has denied that he was the driver that day. Lee Cheng Yan, 35 is claiming trial to 10 charges related to the incident, which happened on the evening of 17 November 2017.

These include voluntarily causing grievous hurt to the police officer, failing to stop after an accident and obstruction of justice.

Poly Student Who Took 240 Upskirt Photos In Two Months

The polytechnic student, Shaun Ng Wei Xuan collected more than 240 upskirt photos within two months. He allegedly targeted girls in short skirts and tight dresses.

He followed the victims up escalators, into shops and on public transport to take upskirt photos.

He told the court on October 2017 that he began taking these upskirt photos of unknown women as they aroused him.

NUS Undergrad Who Molested Woman Will Not begin Probation While Waiting For Outcome Of Appeal Case

Undergraduate Terence Siow Kai Yuan, 23 will not start his probation term for molesting a 28-year-old woman in an MRT station. This is as an appeal against his sentence is before the courts.

On 4 October, District Judge Jasvender Kaur allowed a stay of execution on the probation order, pending the outcome of the prosecution’s appeal.

They are looking to overturn the judge’s decision to sentence Siow to 21 months’ supervised probation, instead of the proposed sentence of six weeks in jail.

Man Jailed For Cheating Victims Of Almost $200,000 In Timeshare Recovery Scams

A 35-year-old man was sentenced to 13 months in jail on 3 October for executing a series of timeshare recovery scams.

From 2012-2013, Mohammad Herianto Abdul Hamid tricked 16 timeshare owners into giving him nearly $200,000 in termination and recovery fees.

According to the police, “Mohammad Herianto made various false representations to potential customers to deceive them into paying for timeshare recovery services.”

He also presented to them fake documents issued by a third-party company which stipulated the amount of money the customers could get back.
