A local software development company in Singapore which had previous experiences with working with schools has been fined $60,000.
This was because it failed to safeguard the personal information of nearly 48,000 students, parents and staff. The incident happened in 2016 and provided schools with attendance-taking technology.

About 3,400 PMD Users Were Given Warnings For Errant Use Of PMDs On Footpaths
On 5 November, PMDs were banned from footpaths. According to Land Transport Authority (LTA), a total of 3,444 warnings have been given to riders within that month.
The authorities have also impounded a total of 111 personal mobility devices (PMDs) that were caught in other offences such as illegal modifications.

Founder Of Aesthetics Clinics Told To Return $30.7million To Investor
The founder of a chain of aesthetics clinics in Singapore was made to do a refund of $30.7 million to an investor.
This came after the High Court found that he had made fake claims to trick a businesswoman into contributing funds. He had also failed to reveal that he had previous agreements with two parties.

Doctor Tells Zheng Geping To Stop Working Out And That He’s No Longer Young
The 55-year-old actor, Zheng Geping, was told by his doctor not to train as he’s not young anymore. Hence, his recovery will be slower.
He continued, “When you’re older, your old injuries come back to haunt you. Then, your body will say, ‘Sorry, you have to retire.’ When the time comes, I think I will have to tell my soul to accept the facts.”

DBS Wins President’s Challenge Award For Giving $12.8 Million To 300 Social Enterprises In Last 6 Years
DBS won the inaugural Social Enterprise Champion of the Year (Corporation) award. This was given in recognition of DBS giving nearly $12.8 million in support of more than 300 social enterprises starting 2014.
The bank makes use of its DBS Foundation arm to reach out to social entrepreneurs and has since been recognized for their contributions by President Halimah Yacob on Thursday, 5 December.
