Abandoned Baby Found Alive In Bedok North Block Rubbish Chute
An abandoned baby boy was found alive in a bin at the bottom of a rubbish chute at Block 534 Bedok North Street 3 on Tuesday (7 Jan) morning.
The child was discovered by cleaners in a blood-stained tied plastic bag among other bags of rubbish and food packaging.
His condition is stable, and there were no visible injuries, said the police.
The baby appears to be a newborn.

60 People Evacuated, One Taken To Hospital After Fire At Middle Road KTV Pub
Sixty people were evacuated and a woman was taken to hospital after a karaoke pub in a Middle Road building caught fire on Monday (6 Jan).
According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Pandora Club and KTV on the fourth floor of Lee Kai House was “raging with flames and black smoke”.
Nine emergency vehicles and around 30 firefighters were sent to the scene to put out the fire, which was eventually extinguished using two water jets.
There were no casualties except one woman who was taken to Raffles Hospital for smoke inhalation.

SIT To Offer Two New Undergrad Degree Programmes
The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) has introduced two new degree programmes in speech and language therapy, and digital communications and integrated media.
Both programmes will start in September this year.
The speech therapy course, which is the first of its kind here, was launched due to an increasing demand for speech therapists in Singapore for children who require early intervention and older adults who have had health issues such as a stroke.

Jealous Boyfriend Who Attacked Girlfriend & Police Officers At MBS Jailed
A 33-year-old man was jailed for three months and four weeks after he pleaded guilty to one charge each of a rash act endangering the safety of others, voluntarily causing hurt, and voluntarily hurting a police officer.
Taputoro Meihana Deane Delamere had attacked his girlfriend and police officers after he saw her dancing with another man and became jealous.
Delamere, a tourist from New Zealand, assaulted his girlfriend in their hotel room in Marina Bay Sands (MBS) and later assaulted officers when they tried to arrest him.

Man Allegedly Elbowed & Dislocated Woman’s Jaw After She Rejects Him
After getting rejected by two women at a bar, a 25-year-old man allegedly elbowed one of them in the face, dislocating her jaw.
He was later arrested for voluntarily causing hurt.
The victim posted a video of the incident online, which shows a group of six men and women talking. The man then suddenly elbows one of the women in the face, and her friends rush to her aid.
Speaking to The New Paper, the victim said “In that moment, I felt very powerless and defenceless.”
