Are you always sneaking into the office 10 minutes late? Or telling friends that you’ll be reaching in 10 minutes when you just woke up?

If you are fashionably late all the time, then here are 5 tips to keep you right on track, according to TODAYOnline:

1. Leave 2 Hours Early

If you’re a persistent ‘late bird’, then know that you can’t get anywhere in Singapore in 30 minutes.

Well, even if you can, you can’t, because you’re a ‘late bird’.

Sure our public transport is efficient but you’ll be sweating profusely and stinking to the highest heaven even if you do make it on time.

Instead, assume that every journey is going to take two hours and prep beforehand. Get up early enough and get ready for the 2-hour journey ahead of you.

Because you’d never know when there’s a train breakdown.

2. Avoid Distractions

If you’re getting ready to go out, then get ready to go out. Don’t check your text, or surf the web or do anything that distracts you from getting ready.

And don’t you ever go back to bed for five more minutes. It’s never five minutes.

Bathe, brush your teeth, pack your stuff and get out the door. You can check your text or surf memes while you’re on your way.

3. Prep the Night Before

If you have an interview, do yourself a favour and prep the night before, or even a week before. Check your documents, make copies, prepare your clothes and make a list of all that needs to be looked into.

You’ll be glad you prepped ahead when everything falls into place the next morning.

4. Make a To-Do-List

To-do-lists are not just great for one-off events like interviews, but successful people swear by to-do-lists done every night to keep the next day on track. Get a blank notebook, write the date and then write down all of the tasks that you hope to achieve the next day.

You’ll have swagger in your step and be a man (or woman) on a mission the next day. Plus you’ll get the extreme satisfaction of cancelling out all of the items on your list once you’re done.

5. Sleep Early

If you have something important the next day, try to hit the sack before 10.

Sure, you’ll miss the 10th rerun of your favourite drama but when you’re ultra sprightly in the morning and your mind is as sharp as Captain America’s nose, you’re going to ace whatever you have on:

The sales presentation, the job interview or whatever important event is on tomorrow. You’ll be glad you got the much-needed rest.

With this list, hopefully, your friends will not longer have to wait for ages for you to reach until their food gets cold.
