Let’s talk about the headline. Everybody sit in a nice circle and tell me what you think of the headline.
The first thing that comes to mind is, “What the hell?”
How does one simply accumulate that much rage? How does flinging your wife out of a ninth-floor window help? What?
I have so many questions.
Apparently, the couple had been arguing over financial matters. The court heard the Singaporean man had been outraged over the fact that his Vietnamese wife had sent money to Vietnam instead of saving it.
According to Yahoo News, the couple had been married for six years.
Should Have Saved Money To Buy a House in Singapore
Deputy Public Prosecutor Joshua Lim said that the 48-year-old taxi driver had been wanting to save for a house in Singapore.
In a fit of rage, the man carried his wife as she was brushing her teeth and lifted her towards the kitchen window of their home.
She lost her balance and fell beside the washing machine, which she held on to as he continued to carry her out of the window by her calves.
“The victim’s lower body, from her hips to her legs, was dangling in the air when the accused was lifting her calves.”
Daughter Called Out For Help
Upon seeing her father lift her mother nine storeys above the ground, the couple’s five-year-old daughter ran towards the corridor and shouted for help.
The girl had gone around knocking on their neighbours doors saying, “Help mummy, help mummy.”
The man released his wife upon hearing his daughter’s plea for help.
Three of the family’s neighbours responded and came into the unit. An unknown neighbour also called the police to report the incident.
Tried To Lift Her Again When Neighbours Left
Instead of letting the issue go, the man persisted. After the neighbours left, he tried to fling his wife out the window again.
Their daughter was left with no choice but to ask for their neighbours’ help once again.
The police arrived shortly after the ordeal.
The man will be sentenced on 9 January 2020. If convicted of the crime, he will face a jail term of three months and a fine of $1,500.
But still, how angry do you have to be to want to fling your wife nine storeys down?
Hopefully the little girl and her mother both recover from the trauma that they suffered.
