6 thoughts every university student will have when checking their results online

For university students, the feeling of checking your results is one that is either joyful or dreadful. Getting to know how you did for your exams is one thing that is unavoidable for you as a student. Here are some thoughts that go through your mind when checking your results; can you relate to them, especially the last one?

Shit, what if I have to retake my modules?
One thing you surely will fear as a student will be knowing that you have failed a module and you will need to retake it again. Having to retake a module may mean that your graduation date is delayed as you have to pass and complete your modules before you are considered to have successfully completed your course of studies.

Hopefully, my results can be rescued by the bell curve
For university students, the bell curve is one thing that is familiar to you and moderation of your grades based on the bell curve could potentially be a life-saver for you if you did not perform as well as expected with the moderation helping you to achieve a passing grade.

Hell yeah! My hard work paid off!
One of the happiest things in life for a student besides the holidays would definitely be knowing that you did well for your exams and having good grades. Because why else will you sacrifice all that play time and sleep for, right?

Damn, I thought I was dead. Heng ah!
If you felt you have not done well for the exam and you’re praying desperately for a miracle, you’ll feel on top of the world when you not only managed to pass (read: scrape through barely) but did better than expected!

Finally, I’m done with school!
For those in the last semesters of their studies, knowing that you managed to clear all modules and you have officially graduated will make you happy beyond belief.

Hold on to that joy because the stresses of getting a job (if you have not) will get to you shortly. And when you think of yourself as a respectable young working adult, it’s not hell yeah but goodbye to your school holidays.

Oh shit.
And of course, the one that some of us (unfortunately) are so familiar with: When you realise that you did as “well” as you have expected—which is to say: badly.
