When you combine the two things Singaporeans love the most, which are money and food, it seems inevitable that you have to choose between one or the other.
Fret no more, for we have come up with the ultimate list of restaurants with no GST and service charge, where you can have your cake and eat it!
Peperoni Pizzeria
One of my personal favourites, not only do they serve up HUGE 50 inch pizzas where you can choose two flavours, they also serve up a killer vongole and carbonara. I absolutely swear by the prosciutto and rocket pizza with shaved parmesan, while the more traditional might like the margherita.
Locations:
10 Biopolis Road, #01-01, Chromos Block, Singapore 138670
6 Greenwood Ave, Singapore 289195
7 Binjai Park, Singapore 589821
Nam Nam Noodle Bar
Arguably the first eatery to bring a taste of Vietnam to the masses, Nam Nam now has many outlets around the island serving up a bowl of pho in a rich, beefy broth with fragrant basil. Very little frills, good noodles and bahn mi (a Vietnamese sandwich) with none of that pesky GST and service charges.
Location: 252 North Bridge Road, #B1-46/47, Raffles City Shopping Centre, Raffles City Shopping Centre, 179103
The ART
Sometimes, saving money is not the only reason for visiting The ART. It is where students from Assumption Pathway School get to practice and hone their skills in hospitality in preparation for their future employment, and you can get a three-course lunch or some high tea there for a reasonable price.
Location: 30 Cashew Rd Singapore 679697
Saizeriya Ristorante
This should now be a household name for its free flow drinks and cheap set meals, and you should probably visit them if you haven’t. With a decent menu of Italian food to choose from and free flow Nescafe, you now have a place to sit back, relax and enjoy unlimited cuppas without that extra 17%.

Torte (Please note that they’ve since closed down)
If you thought dessert restaurants were posh places for high society, you’ve obviously not been to Torte, where you can not only get their signature chocolate torte but also a mix of Italian and Japanese food at affordable prices. Be warned though, because it is smack in the middle of the Central Business District and will be packed during lunch time – it is only open for dinner from Wednesday to Friday.
Location: 96 Waterloo St, Singapore 187967
Café 566
When an eatery has such a cheesy name and is situated in one of the ulu-est places in Singapore in Mandai, you might frown but reserve your judgement for later. After all, this place serves up traditional Chinese tse char and is themed after the nearby Mandai Zoo, and doesn’t charge any GST or service charge despite its interesting interior design and air-conditioned surroundings.
