Imagine going to the bank and being able to casually pull out a 10k note from your wallet to deposit it. #cantrelate
A $10,000 note is what many of us might need to solve all of our problems right now.
Okay, maybe it may not be able to solve everything, but at least it would be able to get you a decent short getaway to somewhere beautiful and away from your life here.

Sounds nice, doesn’t it?
Ok, stop dreaming.
Anyway, although having a 10k note in your hand sounds amazing, they’re actually not that easy to come by.
Because they’re not commonly available and no longer in circulation.
Which is why it was rather suspicious when a man was found depositing a $10,000 portrait series note in a bank in Singapore.
Turns out it was fake.
Man Deposited Fake $10k NoteÂ
The 61-year-old man was arrested for using a counterfeit $10,000 note.
The police received a report on Thursday, 17 October, that a fake $10,000 note had been presented at a bank in Singapore.

The man had actually deposited the note earlier, and his bank account was credited its corresponding value.
Unfortunately, his success in acquiring the money from the fake note clearly didn’t last too long as he eventually got caught and was arrested on Friday, 18 October.
It is unclear how the counterfeit bill was able to pass muster.
Received It From An Unknown Foreign Man
The man allegedly received the note from a stranger, who had asked him to deposit the note.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the man had received the counterfeit note from an unknown foreign man who sought his assistance to deposit the note, in exchange for a monetary reward,” the police said in a news release on Friday, according to CNA.

The 61-year-old is expected to be charged in court on Sunday with using counterfeit notes as genuine currency. He could be fined and jailed for up to 20 years.
You see, this is why you should not talk to strangers. Or deposit money in the bank for them.
Never ends well.

“The police take a serious view against any person who may be involved in using as genuine counterfeit currency notes and the perpetrators will be dealt with accordingly to the law,” the news release said.
Beware Of Counterfeit Notes
The police also advised people to remain vigilant and examine any $10,000 Portrait Series note if they were ever to receive one.

They also provided a list of measures you should take if you believe you have received a counterfeit note:
- Delay the person who presented the suspected counterfeit note, if possible, and call the Police at 999 immediately.
- Take note of the appearance of the person who presented the counterfeit note, such as gender, race, age, height, build, type of clothing, tattoos and language or dialect spoken.
- Note the type of vehicle used, if any, including its licence plate number.
- Limit the handling of the suspected counterfeit note and place it in a protective covering, such as an envelope, to prevent further tampering.
- Hand the note to the police immediately.
But let’s stop dreaming. We don’t even have the chance to hold a $100 note.
