You know you’re truly Singaporean when you catch your friend mimicking parts of advertisements or whistling to certain advertisement audio.
There are always some advertisements that we’ll never forget, be it good or annoyingly bad. Here are 7 cinema advertisements you can never forget, and will never will since we frequent the movies so much.
Simmons beauty rest champagne
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zI5B6qvRhAc
“I just got the best night’s sleep on this beauty rest mattress and this calls for a celebration!” Yeah, we already remember this line or even the whole of this ad. We all know it’s a great and creative ad, but you can’t stop pondering how ridiculous she was to waste champagne like that.
Simmons Dad’s coffee
I bet you can’t remember when you started to ignore this ad when it’s played in the theatres. No doubt we’ve all seen at least one of their ads before, and multiple times. It was so brilliant we would laugh several times when we first saw it, but as time passed it became just a norm to see this before your movie.
Visa dance with Matt Harding
Times when you can be in Singapore without a dollar, in Japan without a Yen, in Bali without a Rupiah. And the list goes on. Travelling happy means dancing like a duck, because Visa.
Visa Paywave at Toast Box

You’ll realise how Visa likes to engage people in dancing after you watch the old Uncle dancing merrily. This Uncle has lots of hacks, starting with his empty cup loudspeaker and then his Visa PayWave. Hip Uncle is hip, with his iPhone and Visa technology.
Expedia, shh, don’t tell anyone
After the thirty seconds of brightly yellow ad, the only phrases you’ll remember probably are “Ask you to call cab already, so hot leh!” and “Uncle, shh, don’t tell anyone.” You really didn’t get the saving of 31% until now when you re-watch it.
Sovil et Titus time tree
Yeah, their watches are really grand and nice, but this ad just makes us want to start praying. Pray that the movie starts after this long ass ad.
Cathay Hiring Ad
Do you still remember young Terence’s Cathay dance? It made us wonder if we needed such dancing skills in order to work at Cathay.
