Now that calls for a celebration. One that’s National Day worthy. Here are 7 Michelin hawker stalls which you can eat at without breaking the bank. It’ll cost you no more than 10 dollars, guaranteed.
1. Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle
The well-deserved Michelin award goes to this humble stall. Up to 150 portions of chicken rice is sold during lunch time. And how much do you pay for a bare minimum plate of chicken rice here? A mere $2 note is all you’ll need!

3. Claypot Laksa at the Alexandra Village Food Centre
The story goes that an elderly old couple sold their signature recipe of claypot laksa to the owners here. It’s creamy, spicy and rich in ingredients. The cost? Around $5.50 for a bowl of yumminess. I rest my case.

4. Famous Crispy Curry Puff – Amoy Street Food Centre
The pastry flakes like a dream and the spiciness from the black pepper in its filling give a kickass punch. One piece costs around $1.20. The sardines are the best puffs you’ll ever find around.

6. Balestier Road’s Hoover Rojak
A sauce that’s strong, black and rich. Fruits that are in chunks and generous in portion. A price below $10. Time to board a bus and get there right now!

7. Hoo Kee Rice Dumpling
A Bak Zhang will set you back from around $3.60. It’s filled with amazing ingredients – I’m talking crunchy water chestnuts, salted duck egg yolks, meat and yes, the irreplaceable mushrooms. Be early as these babies sell out like hot cakes.
