7 places in S’pore suitable for dating with both your bae and Pokémon

Want a place to go to where you can fulfil your Pokemon GO aspirations yet keep your girlfriend happy?

We’ve got you covered. Check out these 7 places where you can do both at the same time!

1. Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden

If you’ve not known yet, Chinese Garden has been listed as one of the most popular places for Pokemon to hang out with 3 gyms and more than 20 Poke stops. From Eevee to Dratini and even an area where three Pokestops are consolidated together, you’ll have an awesome Pokemon date there.

It doesn’t hurt that the gardens are beautiful and tranquil (maybe). Bring your girl out on a picnic and cook up some awesome stuff for her. She’ll love you more for it. After all, food and Pokemon, what else can she ask for?

Oh, did I mention that it’s a refreshing change to see so many locals in the gardens for once? #Just sayin’.

2. Singapore Botanic Gardens

Yes, our UNESCO site has one more title to its already impressive achievements, a great dating place for Pokemon GO fanatics. With plenty of Pokemon Gyms and Pokestops available in the area, pass the time by taking a stroll through the beautiful gardens while waiting for a wild Pokemon to appear.

It doesn’t hurt that Clefairies, one of the cutest Pokemon in the game are readily available there.

3. ION Shopping Mall

Guys, you love catching ’em all, even on dates, but your girlfriend who (unfortunately) isn’t into the game accuses you of neglecting her. Bring her to ION where she’ll be so busy shopping she won’t care whether you’re paying attention to her or not.

It doesn’t hurt that the mall went all out to place hundreds of lures at the various Pokestops within the mall as well. As a bonus, she’ll love the game because it kept you too busy to nag at her to stop.

4. Gardens by the Bay

With 62 Pokestops and 5 gyms within the area, this is practically Pokemon heaven. And best of all, the areas where there’s no admission fee required are already teeming with Pokemon.

The management of the area has jumped onto the bandwagon and provided their own events and tips for capturing Pokemon within the gardens. You can check out their website for more information.

5. Wildlife Reserves

For the first time, Kai Kai and Jia Jia won’t be the main attraction for the Wildlife Reserves. Said to have 78 Pokestops and 8 Gyms within the area, it’s practically like the Kanto Region by itself (which has 8 gyms too).

6. Vivo City

Don’t feel like squeezing with the crowds at ION Shopping Mall? Check out Vivo City instead where there were sightings of Snorlax and a rumoured Dratini Nest in the area.

And if you’re bored of the game, check out the Time Zone just beside Daiso which is frigging awesome. It’ll bring all 90s kids back to their childhood.

7. Bus Tour

Don’t feel like travelling far because you hate squeezing with crowds? Take a loop service which brings you around your neighbourhood, collecting Poke items from Pokestops in style.

Come across a gym that you really want to beat? Alight from the bus, grab an ice-cream from a Mama store and camp in the area.

Note: This only works if your girlfriend is as big on the game as you are.
