8 CCAs we hoped we’ve joined during secondary school

Most of you would have already left this phase of life a long time ago. But if you could turn back time, besides playing more truants, maybe you would want to join a different CCA too.

NPCC
Until today, this remains a popular CCA. I am not complaining because we all know guys in police uniforms are hot. The only crime they committed was stealing girls’ hearts.

Okay, going back to the topic: NPCC was always seen as a CCA that taught good values and discipline. It gave opportunities for members to showcase your leadership skills. So besides getting to meet hot uniformed girls and guys, you learn to improve yourself too. Sounds like a good deal!

NDCCC
It seems like uniformed groups are a real hit with secondary school students. This CCA formed the foundations of firemen. A CCA for both the guys and girls, it was one of the toughest uniformed group.

I remember how I always heard them being yelled at for almost the whole training. However, it is a CCA that is about saving people’s lives so those who were in NCDCC were always respected. And also bombarded with questions like “Why are you torturing yourself?” But it’s definitely worth it.

Military Band
This is an awesome CCA to join. Besides the fact that you get to learn how to play a new instrument, you can perform with it too! Imagine moving around with your trumpet and swaying along to the music, it’s a dream come true. Also, the uniforms are usually sleek and they make you look like a professional. Sigh, regret is slowly starting to sink in.

Basketball
Ah, the CCA with the tall, dark and handsome guys. There is no wondering as to why this CCA is so popular with the boys (and of course, the girls). If there is a basketball match or no, even if there are a group of boys tossing a basketball around in the court, they are bound to catch a couple of girls’ attention.

Trust me, I have seen girls just standing around during recess and watching the guys shoot hoops. I can’t blame them though, just look at those muscles!

Soccer
Another CCA with the attractive boys, this was a hot favourite. After all, soccer is Singapore’s national sport and many of you would have grown up playing soccer in the field.

And, of course, the part when they remove their shirts, is very exciting for us girls. Someone, please take me back to secondary school!

Badminton
This is one of the few sports where both the guys get to meet girls and even play with them. Plus, the girls get to thrash the boys so it is definitely a bonus for both genders.

Water polo
Also known as one of the “elite” CCAs, not many schools offer this. Water polo is a difficult sport to master too because of the amount of agility and strength required. However, to those schools which do offer this sport, I have to say, you girls are really lucky. Water polo guys make one of the best eye candies.

Choir
Last but not least, this is one of the most beautiful CCAs to join, especially for aspiring singers. I don’t know about you guys but listening to a choir always gave me goosebumps (in a good way).

Regardless or whether you are a guy or a girl, this CCA is a great opportunity to work on your vocal chords. Also, when you start singing in the shower, no one will ask you to shut up (speaking from experience).

So there you have it, the CCAs we all wish we had joined in our prime years. If you are regretting it now, it’s fine, we are in the same boat.
