Eh, sorry sorry, wrong one. Missed out on two alphabets. Let me try that again.

Put your hands together for the most infamous lady in Singapore.

73-year-old Shi Ka Yee.

She drives a Ferrari and is one of those drivers that gives expensive car owners a bad name.

So, what happened?

1. First Crime That Got Her Infamous

Back in 2014, Shi was driving along Telok Ayer road when she came across Raphael Chong Yen Ping, who was waiting for a parking space at the side of the road.

She wanted him to drive off so that her car can pass by. Chong refused as he claimed that the road was wide enough for her Ferrari to pass by safely.

A passerby offered to direct the traffic but she refused. Instead, she got out of her car and punched the driver through the window.

Then, she drove past his car (which she claimed didn’t have enough space) and left before the police arrived.

2. She Claimed That Chong Used Vulgarities on Her

When the case went to trial, Shi claimed that she had not punched him, but slapped him instead. And it was in response to vulgarities that Chong allegedly used on her.

Unfortunately for her, the passerby, Mr Choy, told the court that he did not hear the victim use any vulgarities on her.

Instead, the victim had asked Shi not to blame him if she “is a lousy driver”.

And he clarified that she did not slap, but punched him instead.

The trial was held in 2017, 3 years after the incident. When asked why the witness could remember the incident so clearly, he merely said that an incident like this “doesn’t happen every day”.

Plus, he didn’t expect that from a lady.

She was sentenced to prison for a month and disqualified from driving for half a year.

3. Obstructing Orchard Road in 2016

Two years after the incident at Telok Ayer, Shi got into another road rage incident. This time at Orchard Road.

Shi was driving her car in front of a private bus from Scotts Road to Depot Road.

Cruising (or I should say, crawling) at a very slow speed, she caused the bus behind her to travel at 5 kmph. Yup, 10 times slower than a 5-Tonner.

The bus driver, Wu, honked at her twice. When she turned left at the T-junction of Claymore Road and Orchard Road, she stopped her vehicle, occupying the third and fourth lane of the road.

The bus behind her was forced to come to a stop as well and took up the third, fourth and fifth lane of the road.

4. You Like To Honk So Much, Go Back To China Lah

Both the bus driver and Shi got off their vehicles and shouted at each other. Shi allegedly told the bus driver to return to China if he likes to sound the horn so much.

When the driver asked Shi to move her car to the side of the road but she refused.

She wanted to report the driver’s behaviour to the police and didn’t want the bus to move off.

Even when the police arrived and tried to get her to move her vehicle, it took them some time before she eventually drove off.

5. Drink Driving Incident on 31 Jan 2017

Two police officers were attending to a 999 call when they saw Shi. She reeked of alcohol, had slurred speech and was walking unsteadily.

When the police officers attempted to stop her from driving and advised her to take a taxi instead, she insisted on doing it.

Shi managed to rush to her car and drove it out of the driveway before she was stopped by the officer.

The officer tried to conduct a breathalyser test but she refused for almost 20 minutes.

Eventually, she was arrested and brought back to Tanglin Police Station.

A blood alcohol tested that she had 103mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood, far above the limit of 80mg per 100ml.

It was later revealed that she had drunk a glass of wine while having dinner, then two glasses of gin and tonic at a nightclub before the incident.

6. Her Neighbour Had Trouble With Her As Well

On 17 Feb, her neighbour, Mr Nasrat Muzayyin hired workers to prune Shi’s tree, which had grown so big its branches went into his home at 13 Astrid Hill.

Nasrat had asked Shi to prune her tree before, to which she agreed, but nothing was done for half a year.

Eventually, he hired workers himself to prune the branches that went into his property.

When Shi reached home at around 9.30 am, she went into her neighbour’s house and confronted him.

“You cut my tree, my tree is a living thing, I hope your kids die.”

7. Removed Lorry’s Keys And Went Home

After the argument with her neighbour, she went to the lorry (the one that carried the worker), turned off the engine and took the keys away.

Despite another worker asking her not to do that, she left with the keys.

The workers went to Mr Nasrat and complained, and he went over to her home to retrieve the keys.

8. Shi Drove Her Car Forward Despite Neighbour Standing Right In Front of Vehicle

Mr Nasrat went to her house to confront her, demanding for the key to release the worker from the lift crane.

He threatened to call the police on her if she didn’t return the keys.

In return, Shi merely dared him to call the police and drove her vehicle out. Despite Mr Nasrat standing in front of her vehicle (this time, it’s a Porsche), she drove her car forward until it came into contact with him.

Then, he moved aside and Shi drove off, saying she’s going to Hong Kong.

The worker was rescued by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) about an hour later.

Her lawyer has asked for sentencing and mitigation to be postponed until after this Friday when she will be appealing against the sentence given to her for punching a driver back in 2014.

She’ll be back in court at the end of the month for these three charges.
