We Singaporeans are always on the move, always looking out for new food joints and need to be kept occupied as we travel from one place to another. In order to expedite this, many of us download apps that help us to navigate through life a little faster and a little smoother. What are some of the best apps that we cannot live without?
SG Directory
This app is so important to me, I don’t know how I can survive without it. Be it finding my way from and to destinations via various forms of transport and the shortest walking routes available, I am also able to find out which buses get to the closest bus stops at my end point. Also, you can see how long the next bus is arriving which really, really helps when I’m rushing for time. You need to have this app on your phone. It’s ridiculously useful for both locals and tourists alike.
Grab
For those who frequently take taxis, this might have been a dream come true. Besides being able to pre-book your usual cabs from Comfort or SMRT, you can also choose to ride someone’s car through Grab Car or the recently included Grab Hitch. So easy to use and super convenient.
Carpark @ SG
For those of you who drive, you definitely need this. Every driver is always on the look out for the cheapest parking wherever they may be and this app helps by letting you know what the parking fees are like in various parking lots around your destination.
Burrple
Foodies, listen up! If you are constantly looking for new places to eat and chill out at, this is the app for you. Listing newly opened cafes and restaurants around the island regularly, you can take your pick from a wide range of cuisines and eating venues that are highly recommended by the foodie community of Singapore. Go forth and makan!
PopCorn
Watching movies is one of our favourite past times. This PopCorn app makes it so easy for us to find out what movies are showing at which cinemas across the island and the different timings available. You can even book your tickets through this app so that you don’t have to arrive too early and squeeze with the crowd. Awesome!
iChangi
Whether you are a travel buff or you seem to constantly need to pick and drop people off at the airport, this app is really useful. You can find out which flights have landed and which haven’t, the gate number of the flight you are expecting and which terminal you need to head to.
Carousell
Many of us have taken to selling our pre-loved items on eBay for the longest time. How about a local version? Introducing Carousell, a Singapore-based buying and selling portal that has almost everything you can think of. From the tiniest trinkets to the biggest items like furniture, you can expect to find whatever you need on this app. You can even try doing some sales here too!
McDelivery
No Singaporean can live without this app on their phones, seriously. Who bothers walking to a McDonald’s in the wee hours of the morning even if there’s just one below their block? All you need is a couple of quick taps and you are set for a good meal from MacD’s in about 45 minutes time, delivered right to your doorstep.
