She acknowledged that ending the marriage had not been an easy decision, but said they had both learnt and grown through their years together.

According to Wang, they still cared deeply about each other, even though they would no longer have the relationship of husband and wife.

She said this was not something they viewed as sad because they believed both would be better moving forward.

Neither statement provided a specific reason for the divorce.

Sarah Wang Still Calls Shawn Yue a Good Father

Wang stressed that the love within their family remained complete despite the end of their marriage.

She described Yue as a good father, a good partner and the family’s safe haven.

She also said they did not know what their respective futures would look like, but believed both had been brave in making the decision.

The pair reportedly intend to continue raising their two children together and remain involved in their lives as parents.

In other words, the marriage is ending, but their responsibilities as mum and dad are not.

They Married in Melbourne in 2017

Yue and Wang married in a private ceremony in Melbourne, Australia, on 5 December 2017.

Wedding photographs shared at the time showed the couple holding an outdoor ceremony surrounded by friends and family.

Their son was born in 2018, while their daughter was born prematurely in 2020.

Wang later revealed that their daughter had arrived at 28 weeks and initially required intensive medical care. Yue subsequently announced that she had recovered sufficiently to return home.

The divorce announcement comes about eight years and seven months after their wedding, although some reports have rounded the length of their relationship up to nine years.

Divorce Rumours Had Appeared Before

Speculation about the couple’s marriage emerged in early 2024 after Yue cleared his previous Instagram posts and shared fewer public updates involving Wang.

At the time, there was no confirmation that the couple had separated. They were also reportedly still following each other on Instagram.

Those observations remained unconfirmed rumours until the couple issued their respective statements on 20 July 2026.

Despite ending their marriage, both statements focused heavily on gratitude, their children and the family relationship they intend to maintain.
