A driver in Bugis found himself in an unusual stand-off after a woman walked in front of his car, pointed at him and eventually leaned on its bonnet.
The incident happened at about 8.38pm on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, after 27-year-old Jarett Zachary Kwek turned from North Bridge Road into Liang Seah Street.
Dashcam footage of the encounter was uploaded to TikTok by Kwek, who posts under the username @jzk.mov, the following day.
According to Stomp, the video later received more than 317,600 views.
Woman Walked in Front of Car and Pointed at Driver
The footage shows Kwek turning into Liang Seah Street before a woman in a red top moves in front of the vehicle.
She points towards him while the car remains stationary and makes several gestures.
At one point, Kwek can be heard saying, “Excuse me.”
The woman later moves closer to the vehicle and places her forearms on the bonnet. She appears to speak to Kwek, although what she says cannot be heard clearly in the recording.
She remains there briefly before pushing herself away from the car and walking off.
Kwek then continues driving.
The footage does not establish what prompted the woman’s actions, and Kwek said he did not intend to provoke her.
Driver Said He Did Not Want to Risk Injuring Her
Kwek told MustShareNews that he initially felt embarrassed because other people nearby were watching.
But moving the vehicle was not an option he was prepared to take.
He said accelerating or reversing while the woman was in front of the car could have injured her. Getting out to ask her to move was another possibility, but he decided to remain inside and wait instead.
He also said he could not make out what the woman was saying because music was playing inside his car.
As for what was going through his mind, Kwek said he was essentially waiting and hoping she would not remain there for too long.
He described himself as being just as confused about the encounter as people watching the video online.
Kwek Says Woman Did Not Damage His Car
A photograph shared after the incident showed white marks or prints on the bonnet.
However, Kwek told Stomp that the woman did not hurt him and did not damage his car.
Rather than encouraging people to confront someone in a similar situation, he said his takeaway from the encounter was to remain calm instead of reacting immediately, especially when the circumstances behind another person’s actions are unknown.
