Singapore Actor and Content Creator Wilfred Lee Dies Aged 26

Singapore actor and content creator Wilfred Lee has died aged 26.

News of Lee’s death emerged through social media posts on Saturday, 5 September, with friends, fellow creators and members of the public leaving condolences on his social media accounts.

Lee, whose full name was Wilfred Lee Kim Chye, worked across theatre, commercial productions and online content.

Family Member Said Lee Did Not Wake Up

According to Mothership, a family member wrote in a social media comment that Lee had gone to bed as usual but did not wake up.

The family member remembered him as a kind and cheerful person and a much-loved nephew.

Other friends and creators also paid tribute to Lee.

Content creator Boblet Lee Pichay posted a tribute to him on Instagram, while another friend, content creator Jeremy Koh, who goes by @jercuzzi, wrote on Instagram Stories about the impact Lee had on his life, according to Mothership.

As of the evening of 5 September, no confirmed cause of death had been publicly reported.

Lee’s wake is scheduled to run from 5 to 7 September, with his funeral ceremony and cremation to take place on the afternoon of 7 September, Mothership reported.

Lee Was an Actor, Theatre Practitioner and Drama Educator

Lee was a graduate of Singapore Polytechnic’s Diploma in Applied Drama and Psychology.

A Singapore Repertory Theatre profile described him as an actor, theatre practitioner and drama educator.

His theatre credits listed by SRT included Stories From The Heart, Mystical Myths and Live The Singapore Dream. He was also part of SRT’s The Young Company production of After Life in December 2023.

Lee had also appeared in advertisements and campaigns for organisations and brands including MoneySense, Mediacorp’s Class 95, the Land Transport Authority, GXS Bank, the Central Narcotics Bureau and SkillsFuture.

Outside acting, Lee built an audience through videos about food and places around Singapore.

TikTok Singapore highlighted him among its rising local creators in its 2025 year-end review, recognising his videos about Singapore’s food scene.

He continued posting online in 2026. In June, AsiaOne identified Lee, then 26, as the creator behind the @wilfredleekc TikTok account.

Following news of his death, messages of condolence have continued to appear on his social media pages.
