And it seems that even the Mediacorp scene is not spared, as local actress Jacelyn Tay has dropped some shell-shocking news on her Instagram:
She’s splitting with her husband of eight years.

On Sun (18 Nov), the veteran actress caught everyone with their pants off when she announced her impending divorce.
Posting on her Instagram account, Tay stated that she was in the final stage of divorce proceedings, but declined to reveal a reason for the split. She expressed that she didn’t “owe anyone the reason for divorce” except to her son.

I am at the final stage of divorce proceedings. Many may be shocked. Don’t worry, me and Zavier are fine.
Happiness is never upon others but self. I always choose to be happy and optimistic no matter what happens. Only a happy person can bring happiness to those whom we love. .
I do not think I owe anyone the reason for divorce except to my son. Even if you guys know, you can’t help or change anything for us. Hence I ask all who truly care for me and Zavier to give us a peaceful Christmas this year. Zavier is now on flight with his daddy to explore Europe. She also requested for a peaceful Christmas, and asked that if her followers truly supported her, to simply issue a like and prayer.
Incidentally, she deleted all Instagram comments, which amounted to a high of more than 400 at its peak.

Backstory
Tay has starred in multiple Mediacorp productions, and was a full-time artiste from 1995-2006. Apart from her exploits, she’s perhaps best known for her spa and wellness business, Body Inc.
In 2010, the actress had married Wong, a former Mediacorp sales executive. Their son, Zavier, was born the very next year.
She now seems to be managed by Fly Entertainment, a talent management company started by Irene Ang.
