Adventurous Bull Escaped From Lim Chu Kang Farm; Authorities Asking For Information From The Public

Everyone dreams of getting out there into the world, living adventures and saving princesses.

Including animals.

Now, while I can’t claim to be Pet Detective Ace Ventura who can speak to animals, at least this one bull showed that he has bigger dreams than freeloading on a dairy farm.

Adventurous Bull Escapes From Farm

If you’re familiar with the movie, Chicken Little, that is exactly what happened in Singapore recently.

Except, you change the chicken to a male cow. A bull, to be exact.

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) announced on their Facebook Page that a bull has escaped from a dairy farm at Lim Chu Kang.

They ask that if you come across any lost bull wandering around the heartlands, not to provoke or approach the bull.

Now, knowing Singaporeans, you know our urge to snap a picture is second-to-none. So we won’t tell you not to take at least one photo.

We just hope you’d do it from a safe distance. Preferably behind something sturdy or from the top of a tree #JustSaying

That and to report to the Animal Response Centre at 1800-476-1600 so that the poor owner can be reunited with their lost bull.

The bull was confirmed to belong to Viknesh Dairy Farm by TODAYonline.

Cue Smartass Replies

With such a news-worthy incident, you know that our resident smartasses on the internet will be swarming around to give their two-cents worth.

And one of them did not disappoint.

Cute.

Although one has a valid question: If it’s a live animal, why is the food agency involved?

Simi SFA?

Now, if you’re adorably confused over what is the SFA, you must be living under a rock.

A flashback if you’ve not known: AVA has divorced into two different agencies, with one handling food (Singapore Food Agency, or SFA), and another handling animals (Animal & Veterinary Service, or AVS).

But does that answer your question of why exactly is SFA helping out in this incident?

This netizen’s comment might help to clear the confusion for you:

Interesting.

So stay alert if you’re in the Lim Chu Kang area (or anywhere, actually, given how extensive our green network in Singapore is) or you might just find yourself having a bullish day.

And not in a good way.

Update: Owner Claims Bull Has Never ‘Escaped’

According to the owner, Mr Manikandan of Viknesh Dairy Farm, the two-and-year-old calf, Ganesha, has not escaped from the farm premises.

“The cow did not escape; escape means go outside (onto the) road, go Jalan Besar, go to other places,” said Mr Manikandan. “It did not go outside, it’s inside our farm.”

However, SFA revealed that when they received the notification from the farm and sent SFA officers to inspect the farm, they noticed a break in the farm’s fencing.

They decided to issue a statement to the public in case the bull has ventured out of the farm’s premises.

The search for the bull is still ongoing, both within and without Viknesh’s Dairy Farm premises.
