As the epidemic ravages the Earth as we know it, recession has come knocking on doors in every part of the world. And though it’s a disaster for many, I’m sure, it’s particularly harmful to the palette of avid buffet-goers, who are now unable to sustain their frequent buffet siestas.

“I live for buffets,” said one reader DaShouQiang. “And now, I don’t even have the finances to support my only joy in life?”

Truly, it’s a tragedy sadder than Joker.

But a light, somehow, may yet shine at the end of the tunnel.

A light that emanates with a particular… garden-ish vibe.

Don’t Say Bojio: Ala Carte Buffet with Abalone & Free-Flow Bubble Tea for $19.90 Nett

Craving for a buffet with the three big Vs – Value for money, Variety and Vquality – with gusto since the start of this recession-inducing epidemic?

Well, we’ve just the deal for you.

On 8 July, seafood and multinational cuisine restaurant The Garden Kitchen posted an update on their Facebook page, revealing what’s perhaps the hottest deal to hit Singapore since Steven Lim’s advertisement for a girlfriend.

According to the post, their newly launched July Buffet menu will comprise over 60+ dishes with unlimited seafood and local dishes, all at the price of just $19.90++!

For the record, the buffet place Mr Bean went to probably charges thrice the amount. Probably.

And check this out. Apart from classic (expensive) favourites such as Lobsters, Crabs, Abalone, Shark’s Fin and more, they also have honest to goodness..

Free-flow bubble tea!

Free-flow bubble tea coupled with unlimited seafood and local dishes?

It sounds so bad ass that even Mr Bean is doing a double take.

Triple now.

Anyways, without further ado, here’s a closer look at what their ala-carte buffet menu has to offer.

Though certain dishes (under their premium selection, like lobster or abalone) are limited to a single serving, you still have to admire their tenacity.

To introduce such an affordable offer in light of the current crisis is no easy feat, even with the ascertained increase in patrons.

And So… What’re You Waiting For?

Time waits for no one…

And the queue at The Garden Kitchen is certainly not waiting for you.

So head on down before all slots are fully booked! After all, you wouldn’t want to go through what this poor patron had to contend with just last week, would you?

An empty stomach is bad enough; an empty, disappointed stomach’s surely the worst notion to have ever existed in the history of man-buffet-kind.

You’re partially right: self-serving ones aren’t allowed, but an ala carte one, whereby you order and the food would come to you, are allowed.

So don’t worry: Lawrence Wong won’t crash into the restaurant as you have your free-flow bubble tea.

And if you’re indeed a fan of bubble tea, you might want to watch this video about this sinful drink before deciding to order 10 cups from the restaurant:
