Taiwanese Host Alien Huang (Xiao Gui) Found Dead In His Home; Reports State He Might Have Passed Away A While Back

(Update: According to Sinchew Daily, the preliminary investigation indicated that Huang might have fallen in the toilet and hit his head.)

We barely had enough time to mourn the late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman before we were bombarded with more bad news.

Just yesterday, we were saddened by the alleged suicide of South Korean actress Oh In-Hye.

Today, we learnt of the passing of Taiwanese host Alien Huang (Xiao Gui).

2020 is just unceasing with tragedies.

News Confirmed by Authorities and Manager

On Sep 16, Huang’s family member found his body at his home in the Beitou district of Taipei City, Taiwan.

He is believed to have been dead for some time, as the body was exhibiting signs of rigour mortis.

Authorities were alerted to the case earlier today; upon investigation, they confirmed the identity of the body as Huang.

Huang’s manager has also verified the news, saying that the cause of death will be announced later.

In 2012, the artist discovered a history of kidney conditions that runs in his family. It is unclear whether the conditions are related to his untimely death.

Multitalented Television Personality

Huang is a multitalented television personality, with a career that spanned 18 years.

At the age of 18, he joined the entertainment industry following a pre-casting training course for the film Blue Gate Crossing.

He kicked off his career by hosting a nature-discovery show for children named Follow Me, Go!.

He was also a member of boy bands HC3 and Cosmo, before going on to release solo albums after the groups disbanded.

Since then, he had sung multiple hit songs such as Make Sense and The Most Romantic Song on Earth

Apart from that, Huang starred in various popular Taiwanese dramas and films, including KO One and Mysterious Incredible Terminator.

In fact, Huang participated in a handful of Singaporean productions, like TV show Joys of Life, as well as movies Already Famous and Fat Hope.

His most recent hosting venture, Mr Player, is a huge success. The show bagged the Golden Bell Awards for Best Reality TV Show for two consecutive years in 2017 and 2018.
