900,000 S’porean HDB Households To Receive Rebate Up To $95 OFF in October 2018
Yah, Ah Gong giving more “money”.
Depending on your HDB flat type, you’ll receive between $55 and $95 GST Voucher – Utilities-Save (U-Save) rebate.
Here’s what a household would be getting:
- 1- and 2-Room Flat: $95
- 3-Room Flat: $85
- 4-Room Flat: $75
- 5-Room Flat: $65
- Executive / Multi-Generation: $55
If you’ve followed the Budget 2018, this announcement shouldn’t be new to you, since it’s part of a GST Voucher scheme that is distributed every three months.
The goal is to help HDB households offset part of their utilities bills and lower overall household expenses
Overall, it’ll cost the Government about $280 million a year.
Also, you’ll realize it’s only for HDB households: if you live in private property, you should be so rich that utilities bill is just a small change #justsaying
There would be two more of these to be distributed; take a look here:
How to Get the Money?
Think having PayNow would allow you to receive the cash faster?
You wait long long.
This amount is credited direct to your utilities bill, so technically, you won’t even see the money: what’s going to happen is that you’re going to pay less for your utilities.
And speaking of less utilities, you can save even more come 1 November, because the there would be a nationwide launch of Open Electricity Market.
At this moment, unless you live in Jurong, you can only buy electricity from SP Group. From 1 November 2018 onwards, you can buy from other retailers, and with competition, you can expect better prices and more innovations (e.g. pay less for electricity at night).
