What was the stupidest excuse you’ve ever given to save your butt?

We are no strangers to losing all traces of rationality out of impulse. But that doesn’t validate or justify any of our actions.

I would have poked more fun into this if I hadn’t smelled right through this guy’s crap show. Take it away, Mr Krabs.

The runner who slapped reporter, Alex Bozarjian’s bottom on live television was recently identified as 43-year-old youth minister, Tommy Callaway.

Callaway has come forward to apologise for what he said was an “awful act” of misjudgement.

He Acted Out Of Character

The 43-year-old explained that he had not meant to touch the reporter inappropriately. He said that he had initially wanted to wave to the camera.

So you’re telling me… The camera was angled that low? Okay.

“There was a misjudgement in character and decision-making. I touched her back. I did not know exactly where I touched her,” said Callaway.

Reporter Alex Bozarjian had shared her experience on Twitter on 8 December. She has since garnered the support of many who were angered by Callaway’s actions.

The 16-second clip showed a visibly stunned Alex Bozarjian. She explained that the following had been a shocking “out of body experience”.

“I think what is most important here is he took my power, and I’m trying to take that back,” said Bozarjian.

Callaway added that he took the reporter’s word to heart and was ashamed of what he had done. He was particularly struck by her words, “Do better.”

Did Not Act With Criminal Intentions

The reporter has since filed a sexual battery report against Callaway.

His lawyer responded with a statement saying that he had not acted with criminal intentions. It continued with a brief description of Tommy’s role as a loving husband and father. The statement also mentioned that Tommy’s party will not be expecting criminal charges.

Excuse me?

In an interview with CBS This Morning, Bozarjian explained that she ought to be given time to consider her openness to an apology from Tommy.

“I think what it really comes down to is, he helped himself to a part of my body,” said Alex Bozarjian.

Banned From Participating in Council Owned Races

The organisers of the bridge run have since banned Tommy Callaway from participating in future events. According to the Savannah Sports Council, they will not tolerate behaviour like Callaway’s.

People who have done such deeds are quick to dismiss their actions by showing remorse on national television. As a minister and a father to two beautiful daughters, Callaway should have known better.

Imagine having to answer to, “What that hand do, daddy?”
