Poll Allegedly Shows That 46% Of Americans Want Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to Join U.S. Presidential Race

During last year’s U.S. Presidential Election in November, many of us were glued to our phones, watching as the states turned blue or red one by one.

There were definitely too many close calls in that race, but seeing that Donald Trump was elected as President of the United States in 2016 (thereby spelling doom for everyone), anything could’ve happened.

Anything?

Seeing as still almost half the country voted for Trump and then claimed that the election was a fraud—yes, anything.

Perhaps even in the future, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson could be running for president.

And no, unlike Trump’s promise to “Make American Great Again”, he isn’t joking.

(By the way, Trump’s slogan is awfully similar to Reagan’s “Let’s Make America Great Again”?)

46% of Americans Want The Rock As U.S. President

A poll conducted by Piplsay revealed that almost half of the 30,138 American adults surveyed supported the Hollywood celebrity’s candidacy.

In fact, 58% of the surveyees would like to see Dwayne Johnson and actor Matthew McConaughey run for U.S. President and Texas Governor respectively. The latter had raised the possibility multiple times and the current governor is up for re-election in 2022.

Additionally, the majority of the Americans polled believed that Hollywood stars could make good politicians given the right attitude and support staff.

81% also felt that celebrity opinions and endorsements would influence public opinion.

With regards to current U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris, Johnson had endorsed the duo in September 2020—the first time he has publicly supported candidates for a presidential run.

What an honour that must be for Biden and Harris to be endorsed by The Rock, no less. Guess you could say they earned his rock solid support?

Johnson Open To Running; Will Depend On Public Interest

Of course, nothing is set in stone yet (ha!).

The former professional wrestler has mentioned multiple times that he was “seriously considering” becoming a candidate but was aware that he would need to “get some experience and understand policy”.

Well, that’s something Trump didn’t bother with at all, especially during the outbreak of the pandemic. Neither did Kanye West. Looking at his campaign’s Wikipedia page, West had called vaccines the “mark of the beast”.

That’s one point (or edge?) for The Rock.

According to USA Today, Johnson said that he would run “if that’s what the people wanted”.

“Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people…So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground.”

How sturdy and grounded of him. You know: like a rock?

The actor also knows that he isn’t the most traditional candidate for presidency, tweeting:

Your Founding Fathers would also have been horrified to know that an orange man with a rat’s nest for hair was president, so I think you’re good there, Johnson.
