While we can all start heading out more often during Phase 2, there’s still one very important thing we all need to do:
Wear a mask before we step out of the house.
Though this rule has been enforced and emphasised very often, there are still some who go out to the streets without their masks on.
One such instance is this man who, not only wasn’t wearing a mask, but was also spotted hauling vulgarities at the staff working at Angel Supermarket.
Man Abuse Staff, Presumedly For Not Letting Him In
On 24 Sep 2020, Facebook user Daniel Tan shared a supermarket’s CCTV footage in a Facebook post.
In the footage, a man in a grey shirt without a mask was seen approaching the counter which was manned by two staff.
He had wanted to speak to the person in charge.
A man in a black shirt, who was also at the counter, replied to him, saying he has no time for him.
Pushing on, the man in the grey shirt pointed to the staff at the cashier and said, “She said don’t step inside.”
After being told that he can’t enter the shop without a mask, the man in the grey shirt then hurled vulgarities at the staff before leaving the store.
Not The First Time This Happened
In the post, Tan shared that this isn’t the first time the man had harassed staff at the shop.
He added that the Singapore Police Force was unable to help them despite the clear harassment.
He has tried all ways, including banning the man from the shop to no avail.
In one of the replies, it was mentioned that a notice has been put up since April to inform shoppers that those without a mask will not be allowed into the supermarket.
It was additionally claimed that because of the man, Angel Supermart “have had supervisors and staff who quit in fear”.
The man allegedly makes personal threats against the safety of their staff as well.
In some instances, it was claimed that the man had waited outside the supermarket to “settle” scores with the staff.
He ended off his post with a lament, “Does somebody have to get assaulted or lose his life before something is done?”
He urges the authorities to take action and render assistance to his outlet.
