Last week, ofo bikes took the headlines again because a man threw it down from an HDB building. At midnight and filmed on camera.
Now if that isn’t stupid enough, here’s something stupider. A group of teenagers, aged between 16-18, decided to do something similar.
Really, does destroying poor, defenseless bicycles make you feel more like a man? (P/S: You got to watch the video at the end of the article to know what I mean.)
Man Filmed Riding a Bike in MRT station, Threw Ofo Bicycle into Canal
Last week, a shirtless man was filmed throwing an ofo bike into a canal.
He was also shown riding around what looks like Punggol MRT station on a bicycle, and a few other males were seen sitting on yellow bicycles (presumedly ofo as well) and egg him on.
Then he nearly colliding with a bus while riding on the road.
The video has since went viral online, for the wrong reasons.
The police said in a statement that four male suspects between the age of 16 and 18 were arrested on Monday.
Investigations are still ongoing, the police added.
Here’s the video that prompted the arrest:

Teenager throws ofo bike off HDB in Whampao
This came shortly after the video of a 14-year-old boy throwing an ofo bike from a HDB in Whampao went viral.
Several people made a police report, including ofo, the bike-sharing company itself.
The boy was arrested a day later and netizens were calling for harsher sentencing against him. In the incident, it was known that the judge will take his age and the circumstances into consideration during the sentencing.
Public Nuisance & Rash Act
The four suspects are accused of committing a rash act and being a public nuisance.
If convicted of committing a rash act, they face up to 6 months’ jail term, a fine of up to $2,500 or both. If convicted for public nuisance, they face a fine of up to $1,000.
Netizens are getting more and more creative with their proposed punishment, with one asking the judge to make the suspect get into the canal, retrieve the bicycle, polish it before returning it.
What would you do if you are in charge of their sentencing?
