Another Case of Vehicle Nearly Hitting Kid Who Raised His Hand

As a mere schoolchild, I was taught to raise my hand when crossing a zebra crossing, because it apparently alerts motorists and gets them to slow the **** down.

A decade later, however, that notion was turned on its head so cruelly, so twistedly that I wonder whether the teacher who told me that actually just wanted me to die a horrible death.

I mean, just look at these screenshots from a video.

Did the boy raise his hand? Yes.

Did the van driver give a ****?

Evidently not.

Now, of course you can argue that the black car was blocking the van driver’s view. But anyone who holds a driver’s license would know that you’ve to slow down and expect a surprise near a zebra crossing.

And everyone who has a driver’s license knows that you have to stop at a stop line (through you’ll only see L-plater drivers doing that).

Especially so since bicycles or PMDs tend to dash onto the road without warning.

You can watch the actual video down below:

Words cannot express how angry we are after watching this video. We are nevertheless very glad the little boy is okay. He's well taught, doing everything right to cross the pedestrian crossing, to go home after school nearby. And if you’re wondering why the introduction sounds so damn familiar, it’s because just like the incident…

There’s a sense of deja vu (which I shall go into later).

Another driver nobody needs on the road

Facebook Page SG Road Vigilante – SGRV recently posted the discriminatory video on its page, with a very ‘heated’ caption in tow.

Reckless breaks the Internet

Rather unsurprisingly, Netizens are showing some prevalent cases of distinct Internet rage.

Although there were some that argued for the driver‘s case.

But their arguments were shut down so quickly I reckon even the firing of a pistol bullet is slower.

Not the first incident

Barely two weeks ago, an all too similar incident occurred. Two school children raised their hands and crossed a zebra crossing (which is standard protocol by the way tyvm), only to see a car dash right in front of their noses.

The incident promptly went viral on the net, with multiple Netizens blasting the unnamed driver for his/her antics.

And it seems that just two weeks later, history has repeated itself.

To all drivers

Sincerely, from the rest of us here hiding behind our screens…

Please stop trying to kill innocent kids.

After all, they’re just trying their best to observe road safety.

Don’t take that away from them.
