Argument Arose in an MRT Train Because Someone is Standing ‘Too Close’ to a Lady

Amidst these tumultuous times, the aspect of social distancing may have to, especially on the government’s orders, be taken more seriously.

However, that in turn also begets the question: just how seriously do we have to take it, and are we allowed to take matters into our own hands?

Because from the looks of it, this particular woman appears to have taken the government’s decree to heart…

And in the process, established a self-formed identity as a Resident Safety Distancing Ambassador.

Argument Arose in MRT Train Because Someone is Standing ‘Too Close’ to a Lady

According to STOMPone woman’s dissatisfaction at a lack of safety distancing led to a serious shouting match – one which culminated in a battle of the Smartphones, wherein neither party refused to concede.

The incident occurred on an MRT train, which was travelling from Lakeside to Jurong East, on Friday (29 January) at around 1:30 p.m.

A video of the commotion was subsequently shared with Stomp.

“The lady asked the auntie to move until she shouted like that,” said the Stomper.

In the video, a lady could be heard reprimanding another female, and telling her, “There is so much space over there, you want to stand here?”

She reportedly reiterated her point, before whipping out her phone to record the other woman.

At this point, another commuter intervenes and calls the recording lady “stupid”.

He tells her to move if she’s dissatisfied, and adds: “F*** you, understand?”

“F*** what? She cannot go over there? I was here first, okay?” she responds.

The commuter then ushers the other woman to move.

Battle Of The Smartphones

Still spouting vulgarities, the shouting lady then whips out her phone again to video the man, stating that she is going to upload the video to the net.

In response, the commuter also whips out his phone to video her, informing her that she is “embarrassing”.

He also calls her a bully.

The video clip has since attracted more than 300 likes & reactions, as well as a staggering 281 comments.

While some questioned the woman’s mental health, others pointed out that there were other people standing around her. And yet, she only directed her anger towards the afflicted woman.

There were also several reasonable suggestions, such as walking or Grabbing if she’s unable to tolerate such close-proximity with other people.

And it appears that the situation is far from being the first.

In spite of everything, however, one Netizen reasoned that it may have been the situation that contributed to such behaviour.

Well, here’s hoping that such behaviour does not become the norm, no matter what happens.
