It’s not often that you see people confess to crimes online, as we’re used to seeing them denying allegations and absolving themselves of responsibility.
This is why the video of a teen allegedly admitting to sexually assaulting an intoxicated girl caused such a stir online.
The teen was later charged, but the authorities discovered that wasn’t his only offence.
18YO Who Confessed to Sexually Assaulting Girl Also Accused of Assault With a Deadly Weapon
Investigations revealed that the 18-year-old was part of a group that had intended to assault another teenager.
The group, 11 males aged between 15 and 24 years, gathered on the second storey of a Woodlands Close building at around 10:20pm on 4 Oct with the intention of assaulting a 17-year-old boy.
The 18-year-old was allegedly armed with a baton at the time, which is classified as a deadly weapon. Consequently, he’s now being accused of being a member of an unlawful assembly.

It’s unclear if the assault ended up taking place. The name of the victim, as well as the alleged offenders, have not been revealed.
Charged With Sexually Assault
The youth was previously charged with sexually penetrating a 14-year-old girl without her consent, after he allegedly admitted to the offence on social media.
It appeared that the youth was made to confess to his crimes by two Instagram users in a livestream on Monday (22 Nov).
In the video, he said: “I would like to apologise ah for what I’ve done… and I know it was wrong”.
And with some prompting from the two men, the youth said: “I fingered a girl without her consent when she was intoxicated,” adding that he feels like “absolute crap” about it.
On the day when the video made the rounds online, several police reports were lodged over the matter. Police investigations led to the 18-year-old, and he was arrested.
The alleged assault occurred on 21 Sep in Towner Road, near Serangoon Road, which means his alleged assault incident with a weapon took place after this sexual assault.
The police are continuing their investigations to determine if there are other victims involved, during which the teen will be remanded.
The police said it takes all reports of sexual assault seriously and will ensure that perpetrators are severely dealt with.
If found guilty of his sexual offence, the youth can be jailed for up to 20 years and fined or caned.
The penalty for being a member of an unlawful assembly armed with a deadly weapon is imprisonment of up to five years, a fine or caning, or any combination of these punishments.
