Two Australians were shot at a villa in Bali, Indonesia, just after midnight on 14 Jun 2025.
The incident happened at Villa Casa Santisya, a villa located near Munggu Beach.
Details of the Attack
Local police identified the deceased as Zivan Radmanovic, 32, from Melbourne.
The wounded man is Sanar Ghanim, 34, also from Melbourne. Ghanim was rushed to Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar and remains in intensive care.
Police Chief Arief Batubara stated the attack involved two gunmen. Both suspects arrived at the villa on a scooter around midnight. One wore an orange jacket with a dark helmet, while the other had a dark green jacket, black mask, and dark helmet.
Witnesses, including the victims’ wives and another foreign tourist, said both attackers spoke English with a strong Australian accent.
The villa had five guests across three rooms at the time, reported AP News.
Radmanovic’s wife, Gourdeas Jazmyn, 30, told investigators she was woken by her husband’s screams. She hid under a blanket as gunfire erupted. After the shooting, she found her husband dead in the bathroom and Ghanim bleeding heavily.
Police found 17 bullet casings and two intact bullets in the bathroom where Radmanovic was shot.
Ghanim was reportedly shot seven times.
Another witness, Daniela, staying in a separate room, heard an explosion and saw a man in a green jacket attempting to enter her room before she fled the villa.
The suspects escaped on two motorcycles. Authorities have launched a manhunt and are interviewing witnesses.
The motive for the attack remains unknown.
Evidence Collected at the Scene
Radmanovic was found dead in the villa’s bathroom. He had multiple gunshot wounds.
The Australian Consulate in Bali has been notified. An autopsy on Radmanovic is pending family approval. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing consular support to the victims’ families.
Authorities have launched a manhunt. Police are interviewing witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage. The motive for the attack is still unknown.
