Celebrating the new year surely means that we get a free pass from getting COVID-19 right? After all, the virus must be taking a break from infecting people to go have a celebratory drink. Just kidding, but a crowd of party-goers in Clarke Quay somehow managed to travel to a parallel universe where singing the Spongebob Squarepants theme song made COVID-19 disappear, and partied the night away on New Year’s Eve (31 December). They urged us to adhere to safe management measures so that "the situation will continue to improve, and we can look forward to 2022 being a significantly more normal year".
