Now, before I start, here’s a disclaimer: I’m an egg lover, and I’m a McDonald’s lover. However, it doesn’t mean that everything McDonald’s would make me go gaga: I’ve once reviewed the Nasi Lemak burger and promised that I won’t go for it again, so I’m definitely impartial. At least that’s what I think. But I can’t say much about eggs: anything with eggs would win me over, even if it’s just a shitload of eggs. I mean, as long as it’s cooked eggs, it’s a gem made in heaven. (But don’t lah, pretty please?) McDonald’s Scrambled Egg Burgers So, it’s announced that since 25 September 2018, McDonald’s brought back the scrambled egg burgers. Yeah, apparently they brought them back, meaning that they used to be in the menu. I can’t remember having that in the menu, but perhaps it’s because I’m born in 2016, but anyways. Image: Facebook (Goody Feed) So our conclusion is that our readers love eggs as much as I do. So we die die have to review this, but how? We managed to steal our boss’s credit card and guessed what? His card didn’t get declined (that means this month we can also get pay le!). And so, without further ado, we ordered the burgers, all in the name of content creation since we don’t know how to make duck faces. I mean, we all remember the Cheesy Unloaded Fries, don’t we? But voila! The sausage version. Can you spot the sausage? So you think we’re just lucky? We ordered two burgers, and either we’re going to strike 4D this weekend or this simply is it. The ham version. We can only see hand instead of ham. At first glance, the scrambled eggs are massive. I reckon there are over ten thousand eggs in each burger, but what attracts me most is this hidden gem that isn’t mentioned in McDonald’s Facebook Page (but is indicated in their website): a melted cheddar cheese below the egg for that extra kick. LOOK AT DAT!!1!! :DDD The burgers are paired with the classic McChicken sauce, so basically, what you’re getting is this: Filet-O-Fish buns Big breakfast scrambled eggs Breakfast’s Sausage or ham Cheddar cheese McChicken sauce Technically speaking, there’s nothing new. But put them all together, and it’s brand new again. So how does this “brand new” taste? Taste Test You can actually imagine the taste ‘coz I’m sure you’ve tried those ingredients in McDonald’s before. Before I move on, imagine. (NO DON’T CHEAT, GO IMAGINE NOW) (GOOOOOOOOO) Got it in your mouth now? Well, here’s the verdict: it’s heavenly. :DDD McDonald’s scrambled eggs are in my list of the top inventions in the world: anyone who has tried them before would agree. Whether you’re eating them alone or with a sausage, its fluffiest and its sweet-yet-not-overly-sweet-taste would make you feel like McDonald’s makes the greatest eggs. That itself is a winner. But it’s not the scrambled eggs that steal the show completely this time. It’s the combination of the scrambled eggs with the cheddar cheese. When sweet meets sour, the flavour blends in perfectly, almost as perfect as Christopher Lee with Fann Wong. One thing that strikes out is the fluffiest: everything is so soft, so it’s like having a cloud burger. I was expecting to feel jaded since it’s a rather big burger (remember, 10,000 eggs in a burger), but surprisingly I don’t. It seems like the sausage / ham is there to ensure that every bite is fresh. Just be careful when you’re at the last bite: because it’s so soft, everything tends to drop out or break when the burger is left with a few bites. Try it and you’ll understand. Lest you’re wondering, yes, I makan-ed both burgers. Between the two, I’d choose the sausage, primarily because I don’t like ham. However, I’ve a feeling that the ham version might go well with most, since the saltiness would have made the burger even more flavourful. After all, we all like to add salt to our scrambled eggs, don’t we? But honestly, you just have to try it yourself. If this is a permanent item, I think I’ll be buying a ring and proposing to it.
