If you’re a Marvel fan and are furious that I’ve spoiled the story, then here’s another spoiler for you:
You’re not a Marvel fan.
Which Marvel fan won’t have known that Iron Man’s dead? Talking about Iron Man’s death is akin to talking about Jack’s sacrifice in Titanic: it’s general knowledge.
But do you know what happened immediately after Iron Man’s death?
Did Pepper ask him what’s going to happen to his CPF funds?
Or did War Machine ask him if he could finally change his suit’s colour to red and gold?
Apparently, in the home-video release that’ll be available from 13 August 2019, it’s revealed in a deleted scene that the heroes all mourn wordlessly to their de facto leader by kneeling in front of him.

In the theatrical release of the video, right after Iron Man’s death, the film moves on to the characters’ lives after the “The Blip”, followed by an emotional memorial for Tony Stark that includes the long-lost Nick Fury.
However, in the initial cut, the directors had included a scene of the heroes saluting Iron Man emotionally. In fact, I’d think that this is much sadder than the memorial.
But the directors disagree, saying, “It’s a beautiful scene with moving performances, but we filmed it prior to Tony Stark’s funeral…The funeral scene ultimately became a more resonant and emotional reflection on Tony’s death for us.”
