This morning (29 Mar), the police were alerted to a case of unnatural death at the foot of an HDB block in Hougang, where the body of an infant was discovered.
The Straits Times reported that an 18-year-old woman is presently assisting with the investigation, but her involvement in the incident remains uncertain.
Here’s what happened.
Body of Baby Found at Block 166 Along Hougang Avenue 1
The body of the baby was found at the foot of Block 166 Hougang Avenue 1 at 11:30am.
According to media reports, a blue tent was placed next to the block, on a patch of grass.
Police officers were spotted outside a second-floor unit of the block, which has been cordoned off.
Drops of blood were also spotted at the lift lobby that’s closest to the above-mentioned unit.
According to neighbours that The Straits Times spoke to, there was nothing out of the ordinary that morning, and a resident only knew about the incident after seeing the blue tent.
Undertakers had since removed the body at around 2:40pm.
