“I’m a barbie girl, in a barbie world~”
Sounds familiar? Well, that’s probably what local politicians have been singing recently, considering their newfound “obsession” with the new BaiRBIE.me AI generator.
Everything About The AI Generator BaiRBIE.me
Yes, there’s now a Barbie AI generator.
So lest you’re unaware, AI generator trends have been all the rage lately. Whether it’s a wedding dress filter, cartoon filter or celebrity filter, AI can turn you into anything.
Including Barbie.
The process is pretty simple: just go to bairbie.me and upload a photo of yourself.
The AI generator will then convert your image into a Barbieverse pic.
You’re able to pick your gender (Bairbie or Ken), hair colour (Blonde, Brunette, Red or Black), skin colour (Light, Tan or Dark) and race (White, Black, Asian, Hispanic/Latino).
After designating your choices, you have to input an email, to which they’ll send the results.
Even Politicians Are Posting About It
Interestingly, even local politicians are posting about it.
Minister for Education Chan Chun Sing, for instance, recently revealed in a Facebook post that someone had created a Ken-ified version of him.
“Someone sent this to me…” he wrote. “Ken or not?”
He then jotted down several “mistakes”, one of which was a no-no for his position.
Even Leader of the House Indranee Rajah was in on the trend.
“Someone just sent me this!” she wrote in a recent Instagram post.
To think that the “fearsome” Leader of the House would be… barbie-fied.
Meanwhile, Tampines GRC MP Baey Yam Keng was spotted having fun with the AI generator too. His underlying message, however, was a more serious one.
And, of course, our local artistes were busy getting Barbie-d too.
At this point, it’s plain clear that Barbie fever is very real.
Barbie
Theatrically released on 21 July in the United States, the Barbie movie has since gone on to gross over $1.031 billion worldwide. It is also extremely well-rated on review sites, with a staggering 88% critics score and 84% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Directed by Greta Gerwig, the 1h 54m film stars Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken.
Due to its same-day release as Christopher Nolan’s flick Oppenheimer, a movie phenomenon known as the “Barbenheimer” occurred. Barbie has since become the second-highest-grossing movie of 2023, while Oppenheimer grossed $552.9 million worldwide.
The Super Mario Bros movie currently sits first with a worldwide gross of $1,352,756,895, or $1.353 billion.
Only time will tell whether Barbie will overtake Mario and gang, and become the biggest flick of 2023.
