39YO Bangladeshi in S’pore with COVID-19 in ‘Critical Condition’: Bangladesh Media

By now, you should know that there’s a COVID-19 cluster at a Seletar Aerospace Heights construction site, limited to the sites at 8 and 12 Seletar Aerospace Heights.

The project site is for an expansion of the Singapore Service Centre of Canadian aviation firm Bombardier.

Five Bangladesh nationals who are infected with COVID-19 are being linked to the site, and since 9 February 2020, construction works at the site have been halted.

The infected workers are all with a subcontractor (a major construction site will have many subcontractors to work different parts of the project).

Today, Bangladesh newspaper The Daily Star reported that one of the Bangladesh nationals is unfortunately in critical condition.

As of noon yesterday, the number of patients in critical condition and are warded in ICU is four.

Before anything, do remember that a COVID-19 patient who was once warded in the ICU has now been discharged.

According to The Daily Star, one of the four patients in critical condition is a 39-year-old Bangladesh national.

Bangladesh Foreign Minister said that the 39-year-old has been kept in the intensive care unit (ICU) for the last 13 days, and he has not been responding to the medicine given to him.

This was related to him by Singapore.

He added that Singapore is “doing their best to take care of him with medical services of the highest level.”

The man has underlying health conditions before getting infected; according to the Bangladesh Foreign Minister, he had been suffering from respiratory and kidney disease.
