Barbie Hsu just sued her ex-husband for showing their children’s faces online.
This isn’t the first time he has jeopardised his children’s privacy.
Barbie Hsu’s Ex-Husband Posts Pictures of Children’s Faces Online in Breach of Agreement Between Ex-Couple
On Sunday (14 May), Barbie Hsu’s ex-husband, Wang Xiaofei, found himself knee-deep in trouble after posting pictures of the ex-couple’s children.
It turns out that doing so was in breach of his agreement with Barbie Hsu not to show their son and daughter’s faces on social media. This agreement was made to protect their children’s privacy.
So why did the 41-year-old Wang Xiaofei shoot himself in the foot anyway?
It turns out that the Chinese businessman recently celebrated his son’s seventh birthday and wanted to post the photos on social media.
On Weibo, he only posted photos of the surroundings at his son’s birthday celebration—like what a “Gen Z photo dump” looks like nowadays.
Fortunately, he did not show his children’s faces in the Weibo post. He merely wished his son a happy birthday in his caption, adding: “Daddy will love and protect you forever”.
Aww.
However, when it came to posts on his Douyin account, the 41-year-old wasn’t so bright about it—he posted a photo of him with his children at his son’s birthday celebration.
And their faces were in full view.
Dumb ways to die.
While he has since taken down his Douyin post, you best believe the Internet never forgets. Here’s the picture he posted, but with his children’s faces censored.
Not so happy of a birthday now, is it?

Not the First Time Barbie Hsu’s Ex-Husband Compromised the Privacy of the Ex-Couple’s Children
This isn’t the first time Barbie Hsu’s ex-husband has come under fire for compromising his children’s privacy.
Last month, the 41-year-old shared on Weibo pictures of him picking his children up from school.
While the pictures do not reveal the children’s faces, they clearly show the children’s school.
Well, now everyone knows where his children go to school—way to go on privacy.
The Lore on Barbie Hsu and Wang Xiaofei
If you didn’t already know, the Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu divorced Wang Xiaofei in 2021. A few months later, she married her old flame, the South Korean singer Koo Jun-yup, or DJ Koo.
Perhaps distance does make the heart grow fonder.
However, Barbie Hsu’s ex-husband hasn’t looked favourably upon this new marriage.
After their divorce, Wang Xiaofei probably did some soul-searching and realised he was meant to be a keyboard warrior—and be a keyboard warrior he did.
He frequently made allegations against his ex-wife and her new husband. Even Barbie Hsu’s sister, Dee Hsu, got caught in the crossfire.
Among these allegations are claims of vices like adultery and drug use. He also claims that he paid for her properties, was still footing her electricity bills, and his ex-wife was still using his credit card to purchase luxury goods.
But Barbie Hsu has her own two cents to offer as well.
She shared a photo on Instagram to refute her ex-husband’s allegation that he had paid for her properties. In the image, it can be observed that the Taiwanese actress had paid for the properties in question on her own.

That’s not all she had to say—she was ready to put her ex-husband in his place.
She shared another Instagram post alleging that although her ex-husband had previously borrowed NT$26 million (S$1.15 million) from her, he had only returned NT$5 million.

Last week, the 46-year-old actress also confirmed that while she was married to her ex-husband, she had unfortunately suffered two miscarriages.
The first miscarriage came just days before the ex-couple’s wedding in March 2011. Her second miscarriage came a few years later, in April 2018.
With any hope, the actress is happier now.
