Bartley Secondary Student Arrested for Penknife Attack on Teacher at School Premises

A student at Bartley Secondary School was arrested after allegedly cutting a male teacher with a penknife on 28 April 2025, reported The Straits Times.

The incident took place at the school’s premises, located at 10 Jalan Bunga Rampai.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call for assistance at about 12:25pm on the same day.

The teacher was transported to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he received outpatient treatment. He has since been given medical leave and is recovering at home.

School and Police Statements

Principal Britta Seet confirmed that a police report was filed following the incident.

The student involved has not returned to school and is currently assisting with ongoing police investigations.

The school stated that it is maintaining contact with both the student and the student’s parents, and will continue to provide support to those affected by the incident.

Police have confirmed the arrest of the student and are investigating the case.

The teacher’s injuries did not require hospital admission, and no other students or staff were reported injured.
