If there’s one thing that people love, regardless of where you’re from, it’s getting to meet celebrities in public.

Especially during events that involve up-close and personal interactions with them.

Well, that’s exactly what fans of veteran Hong Kong actor Benz Hui got to experience when the 74-year-old TVB actor appeared at Ang Mo Kio on Monday (3 April).

And no, he wasn’t there to do his shopping or stroll leisurely.

In fact, he was there to help his daughter, Charmaine Hui, sell her bakery’s products at the bazaar within AMK Hub.

Yup, even the most famous of celebrities have daddy duties.

Sold an Assortment of Baked Goods at the Stall

According to reports by Shin Min Daily News, Hui reached AMK Hub at around 5 pm on 3 April to help man the stall for Juju Cafe, which belongs to Charmaine Hui’s business of the same name.

In particular, he helped promote an assortment of baked goods from the Juju Cafe, such as egg tarts, polo buns, biscuits and cinnamon rolls.

He also had two assistants who helped him with the sale of the products, which sold like hotcakes.

According to images of the event, members of the public crowded around the stall to take photos of Hui too.

And that’s not all.

Several lucky fans also got to take photos with the TVB star while at the stall and posted them happily on social media.

A day later on Tuesday (4 April), the official Facebook page of the Juju Cafe uploaded an image of Hui grinning and sipping on a cup of milk tea at the stall.

According to the post, Juju Cafe also sold milk tea and other drinks at its stall over the past few days.

Additionally, other posts indicated that the bazaar at AMK Hub will be taking place from now until Sunday (9 April).

Revealed that He’ll be Back to Filming Soon

When speaking to Shin Min, Hui revealed that he will be flying to Hong Kong on Saturday.

As for his acting career, he disclosed that he would be filming two movies and one television series in Mainland China in the near future since COVID-19 restrictions have been significantly relaxed over the past few months.

Hui, who began acting over 50 years ago in 1972, added that he can fly back to Singapore once he is done with his acting commitments as long as he does not need to undergo quarantine.

Hui is a PR and Owns a Bungalow in Yishun; His Wife is Singaporean

And for those surprised to hear that his daughter has a business in Singapore, Hui’s wife is a Singaporean.

Hui, a permanent resident of Singapore, also owns a house in Yishun with his family.

In fact, he and his family even filmed an interview segment on Channel 8 in their Yishun house a few years ago.

(And I’m sure that seeing their six-bedroom bungalow will make you forget that it’s in Yishun.)

Apart from that, Hui also told Shin Min back in 2019 that he had applied for Singaporean citizenship.
