Donald Trump may have unceremoniously removed himself from Joe Biden’s Inauguration ceremony, but it appears that the event will still be packed with star power.

According to reports, Lady Gaga will be on board with a performance of the national anthem.

And though it would probably not be as outlandish as her older music videos, one can rest assured that it will be a performance delivered with powerhouse vocals…

And maybe, just maybe, her trademark ‘Rar rar rar’.

Lady Gaga & Jennifer Lopez Will be Performing During Joe Biden’s Inauguration

Lest you’ve forgotten, the Inauguration ceremony is due to take place on 20 January 2021, with Biden, 78, and Kamala Harris, 56, set to assume their formal positions as U.S. president and vice president respectively.

And apparently, the likes of Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez will be gracing the event.

According to PeopleLady Gaga will be performing the national anthem, while Lopez will put on a musical performance.

Both artistes have since confirmed the news with heartfelt postings on social media.

Meanwhile, Father Leo O’Donovan will be offering an invocation, Andrea Hall will be leading the Pledge of Allegiance, Amanda Gorman will perform a poetry reading and Reverend Dr Silvester Beaman will lead a benediction.

Reader Bao: Who are they?

Erm…nevermind.

Prominent Supporters

It should be noted that Jennifer Lopez, 51, and Lady Gaga, 34, have both been vocal in their support for Biden.

Lopez officially endorsed Biden last October, and professed her reasons in a video chat with the now President-elect and his wife.

“For me, it’s [about] unifying the nation again, getting rid of this hate,” she said. “I hate thinking about my kids walking around in a world where it’s okay to be racist or prejudiced because our administration says it’s okay.”

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, has campaigned for Biden.

She also encouraged fans to vote, and has partnered up with Biden in the past to help establish trauma centres for survivors of sexual assault.

Lest you’re not aware, The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) also endorsed Biden. Maybe he’ll be there to drag Trump out of the White House if the most orange president refuses to leave the Oval Office.

Oath Outside

Despite everything that has happened of late, Biden professed that he isn’t afraid of taking the oath of office out in the open.

“I’m not afraid of taking the oath outside,” he told reporters on Monday

“I think it’s critically important that there be a real serious focus on holding those folks who engaged in sedition and threatened people’s lives, defaced public property, caused great damage, that they be held accountable,” he added.

The President-elect and Harris will be taking their oaths on the west front of the Capitol on Wednesday.

This is in spite of security concerns, which emerged after last week’s violent riots at the building.

Five people, including a police officer, died in the incident.

The riots also led to the impeachment of Donald Trump – the first time a U.S. President has ever been impeached twice.

Trump had been charged with “incitement of insurrection”, after seemingly ‘encouraging’ his supporters to take their protests further.

Despite the impeachment, he has steadfastly refused to resign.

He also insisted that his speech was appropriate at the time, and refused to take responsibility for the riots.

One can only wonder if Lady Gaga can sing peacefully on 20 Jan.

You can watch the live-streaming of the inauguration on YouTube (almost all news channels would broadcast it).
