Singapore is boring. That’s what every Singaporean would’ve thought at least once in your life.
That’s why you love travelling out of the country. You get to feel pampered, experience new things and see new sights.
But hey, if you’re feeling that way, it’s not because Singapore’s genuinely boring. You’ve just not been paying enough attention to what’s happening on this sunny island.
Don’t worry. That’s what you have us for.
Goody Feed’s here to tell you about what’s going on in Singapore and where to go on weekends to make the best use of your rest time.
And oh boy, do we have something exciting to tell you.
Marina Barrage’s 10th Year Anniversary
Everyone knows Marina Barrage, right?
That’s the place you go to for picnics and kite-flying, or just to catch the sunset with the beautiful cityscape arrayed before your eyes.
Well, now you have one more (compelling) reason to go to Marina Barrage this weekend.
Because the barrage’s ten years old this year (feeling old, anyone?) and they’re celebrating it the best way possible: by holding a massive carnival rarely seen in Singapore.
Hundreds of Food and Crafts Stalls To Explore
From 26-28 Oct 2018, Marina Barrage will be hosting the biggest carnival it has ever seen in its ten years of existence.
How big are we talking about here? We’re talking:
- More than 10 street food stalls
- Food and ice cream trucks
- More than 25 lifestyle booths
- Around 40 art and craft booths
- More than 25 upcycling booths
There’ll Be Live Performances As Well
If it’s only stalls and games, no matter the number, it’ll just be a pasar malam, right?
Which is why, on top of the huge number of stalls to while your hours away, be prepared for stunning live performances as well.
Like KAYNA, a six-man band performing for the first time in Asia.
And the story of Marina Barrage told using sand. Yes. Sand.
If you’ve had the chance to watch a sand performance live before, you know you’re going to have your breath taken away.
There’s a reason why people love the saying, blowing away the sands of time. It’s gorgeous.
And Singaporeans’ favourite fireworks is part of the programme as well at 8 pm on Saturday, 27 Oct.
