As someone who’s terrified of birds, having a close encounter with a bird at any point of the day is definitely not on my wish list.
Regardless of having a fear of birds, however, I’m sure that having a bird fly straight at you is enough to make you jerk back a little.
Now on top of that, imagine said bird casually making itself home on your head.
I think most of us would be having a mini internal freak out by now.
Luckily for one woman, she managed to keep relatively calm when this exact incident happened to her.
TikTok Video Shows Bird on Woman’s Head
On 13 May, TikTok user f.zna shared a video documenting a bizarre incident that happened to her.
@f.znaAll i could think was “WHY TF IS A FREAKING BIRD ON MY HEAD” #BIRD #Parrot #birdsoftiktok #tiktok #tiktoksg #fyp #nesthairstyle♬ Blue Blood – Heinz Kiessling & Various Artists
The video first starts off with the woman catching sight of the yellow bird on the sidewalk near Bedok North Street 3.
“Oh my god, I think it is injured. Is it? Ok what should I do?” the woman could be heard asking as she zooms in on the yellow bird.
Well, she certainly didn’t have a choice. In the next moment, the bird can be seen flying towards the phone camera and straight to her head as the video shakes from the woman’s surprise.
In the video, the bird can then be seen nestling on the woman’s head as she cries “Oh my god, oh my god! What am I supposed to do?”
Same girl, same.
“Do I walk like this? Okay, I’ll just walk like this,” the woman continues as she takes a few steps forward. And then—
“I’m just hoping it doesn’t shit on me,” she says.
Oh no. Jinxed it.
The next moment, the video cuts to show the captions: “it did”.
Well, you know what the Chinese say: bird droppings landing on your head is good luck—it’s a sign of major wealth coming from heaven.
The woman can then be seen asking some passers-by to help remove the bird from her hair. Afterwards, the woman presumably brought the bird to the vet.
The video’s last shot is of the bird in a cage with food and water. According to the captions, the bird had a broken leg.
The video has garnered over 335,800 views to date.
Update on the Bird’s Condition
In a later video posted on TikTok, the same user shared an update on the bird and the current situation.
@f.znaReply to @pineapplesonpizza333 i miss the lil birdie 💔 sometimes i still feel its warmth on my head
In her update, she confirmed that the bird was at the vet, and that it was being “very well taken care of”. She also said that though the bird was indeed suffering from a broken leg, the doctor had said that it was not suffering from any pain.
“I don’t know what that means,” she said after a short pause.
Big mood, neither do I.
Maybe the anatomy of birds work differently from humans?
The woman also mentioned that though information on the bird has since been posted onto the lost and found page, none of those who came forward was the bird’s owner.
However, no adoption is allowed until the owner is found, the woman tells her viewers. She continued, saying that if the owner is not found, the clinic would have to go through their own protocol which cannot be disclosed.
“As for me, I cannot take it back because I’m already a mama to a very naughty cat and a parrot!” she said.
So that’s how she remained so calm.
