If you’ve seen enough horror movies, you’d know that “black juice” with “disgusting stench” oozing out of a “mystery basket” that was “hung outside a window” is just perfect horror film material and that it’s best to steer clear of whatever it is…
…unless, of course, you fancy starring in said horror “film” as the main character.
You know… the one who gets the bejesus scared out of him/her.
That being said, at least you now have an idea to scare your friends and family when Halloween comes around.
Disgusting Stench and “Black Juice” Coming Out of a “Mystery Basket”
On the fifth floor of Block 3 on Teck Whye Ave, 60-year-old Ms Wu (吴女士) has been trying to clean the mysterious “black juice” that had dripped onto her window since 4 July.
Not only is the “black juice” hard to clean, but it also has a disgusting stench as well.
Oddly enough, after wiping the juice off, the smell persisted.
Over the days, the smell got increasingly more unbearable.
Enough is enough; she decided to head upstairs to find out where the stench is coming from.
To her surprise, she noticed a “mystery basket” hanging outside the kitchen window of one of the ninth-floor units.
She believed that the smell came from the basket.
What’s in That Mystery Basket?
The unit where the basket was hung out was often locked up tight, so Ms Wu and her fellow concerned neighbours thought someone might have died in that house.
They called the police to help.
After breaking into the house, the police discovered that the “mystery basket” actually contains three pieces of salted fish and a piece of ginger.
The owner of that unit, 62-year-old Mr Wen, apologized to his neighbours after the incident came to light.
He explained that the basket of salted fish belonged to his ex-wife.
Although they have divorced, his ex-wife sometimes comes back to visit the children.
He believed that because of the continuous rain the past few days, the salted fish got soaked and this resulted in the stench and the “black juice” that dripped down to the floors below.
Neighbours on the 4th and 6th Floors Are Also Affected
According to a female resident who lives on the fourth floor, she could smell the stench but she thought it was just someone cooking.
A maid who worked in a sixth-floor unit also said that she found black stains on the windows and clothes that she hung outside.
No matter how the stains were cleaned, they still smelled.
She added that the windows with the stains were sticky even after being cleaned.
