Scarlett Johansson, the femme fatale behind the Avengers’ most loved character (sorry Captain Marvel), is many things:
- Charismatic
- Successful
- Possesses some serious acting chops
- Impossibly hot
Yet, even with her large repertoire of award-worthy characteristics and personifications, there’s one thing she’s not:
Being single.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, as much as I may hate to break the news to you, the female Avenger we’ve had a crush on for so long…
Is officially engaged to another man.
Black White Widow Wife-to-be
According to Channel News Asia, Black Widow actress Scarlett Johansson and Saturday Night Live (SNL) comedian Colin Jost are engaged after two years of dating.
Wait, they dated since so long ago? Nani?!
And while no date has been set for the wedding, the engagement was confirmed on Sunday (19 May) by the Avengers star’s publicist, who reportedly spoke to Associated Press.
Reader Brock: But this doesn’t make sense. How could I’ve missed out on their relationship for so long? Two years eh, not two hours leh!
Well, apparently the couple has strived to keep a low-profile, even though they were spotted a few times, including the most recent Avengers: Endgame premiere on the red carpet.
Reader Brock: But still… how?
Well, to put it simply, it might’ve just been a classic case of cock eye.
For in more apparent news, it seems that the couple actually made their first public appearance at an SNL party, and made their official debut as a couple during the American Museum of Natural History gala event in 2017.
So yeah, not as secretive as we thought alright.
Different Worlds
As ScarJo fans would surely be aware of, the Black Widow actress isn’t entirely different from the moniker she has adopted in recent years.
Before her relationship to Jost, who co-anchors SNL’s The Weekly Update, she was actually married to Pikachu actor Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), as well as journalist Romain Dauriac, with whom she has a daughter named Rose.
On the other hand, it will be Jost’s first engagement, and apparently, it showed.
“He’s changed a lot since, I feel like, you’ve changed, you don’t invite me places,” Jost’s co-anchor on Weekend Update once joked on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “If you’re with, like, Scarlett Johansson, I don’t want to tell you to come to this dive bar with me and watch a Yankees game. I feel like maybe you have better things to do.”
But if there’s anything, it seems that ScarJo’s pretty smitten as well.
“Scarlett says (Jost) is different than many of the men she has been with. They share many similarities together,” an anonymous source previously told E! News.
But hey, you know something.
We don’t care, alright. Hmph.
And so… now what?
Well, I guess that’s one Avengers eye candy off the market. Boo hoo.
But hey, we should all look on the bright side of life.
There’s still Scarlet Witch, and that chio doctor from Age of Ultron. 😉
So yeah, life’s still good, and you can be sure that there’s still quite a bit of… avenging to be done.
You know what I’m talking about 😉
(BTW why’s no one talking about resting bitch face Captain Marvel?!)
