Blackpink’s Jennie Reportedly Paid for a Villa in Seoul in Cash…at S$5.2 Million

Blackpink’s Jennie Acquires S$5.2 Million Villa in Cash in Seoul’s Elite UN Village

Whether you’re into the KPOP scene or not, you’ve likely heard of Blackpink and their main rapper, Jennie. Following their rise to fame, recent tour and numerous endorsements, it comes to no surprise that finance isn’t a concern for the artists.

It has recently came to light that Jennie made a significant cash purchase—a luxury villa in Seoul valued at S$5.2 million.

Just to give you a sense of scale, that’s equivalent to 2,600,000 $2 notes… Yes, it’s a staggering sum.

Details on Her Apartment

Reports suggest that Jennie acquired a unit on the second floor in the LaTerrace villa complex within UN Village without any bank loans. This villa boasts a living space of 244.97 square metres with five bedrooms and three bathrooms.

She bought the house in 2021 with a deposit of 10% at S$519,000 then paid off the remaining S$4,670,000 in cash this year, thereby settling in full before moving in.

For the unaware, the UN Village is located in Hannam district—one of the wealthiest and most luxurious neighbourhoods in Seoul. This area is known to have good Feng Shui as it is located next to Han River and Nam Mountain, thus earning the name “Hannam” district.

It is a popular residential area amongst celebrities, elite business executives and high-ranking politicians, which explains its appeal to the Solo singer.

It is worth noting that Jennie isn’t the only YG Entertainment artist with a preference for UN Village; it’s also home to other notable figures from YG Entertainment such as Psy, Big Bang’s G-Dragon and Taeyang alongside his wife, Min Hyo Rin.

Jennie isn’t the Sole Blackpink Member to Buy Her Home with Cash

If picturing S$5.2 million in cash is dizzying… brace yourself for more.

Earlier this year, Lisa, the main dancer of Blackpink, purchased a house in Seongbuk-Dong for S$8 million in cash. That’s a hefty 4,000,000 $2 notes.

Seongbuk-Dong is another affluent district located in the North of Seoul. It’s a serene suburban neighbourhood that rests against mountain foothills, offering panoramic views of the cityscape.

The Bulgari ambassador’s house spans across 689.22 square metres. It is a two-storey landed property that comes with a basement. The house was initially owned by Jung Seonyun, who is the grandson of the CEO of Lotte Corporation who later sold it to her.

These houses are certainly a testament to their hard work and success.
