When you were a kid and you returned home to an empty house, what would you be feeling?
Happiness, most likely, right? After all, that means I can play my Nintendo and not do any homework! Shiok!
Okay, that’s probably what most 90s kids will feel, not too sure about the new gen though.
But for this young boy, Xiao Rong, it was the end of the world.
Dropped Off At The Kindergarten But Wasn’t Picked Up
It was reported on The Coverage that on 16 May 2017, Xiao Rong’s father dropped him off at the kindergarten which he is enrolled in.
His mother had left the family a month ago and he is currently staying with his father in Zhejiang, China.
However, when it was time for his father to pick him up after school, he did not turn up. Which was strange given his dad was never late.
His teacher, Looi, tried to contact his father via mobile but couldn’t reach him despite trying WeChat. The teachers opened Xiao Rong’s bag and found thick, winter clothes.
Now suspicious, the teachers decided to bring him home themselves, only to find the doors locked and empty.
It was then that Xiao Rong told the teachers that his father had gone back to Gui Zhou. He stayed the night at a teacher’s home and a police report was lodged.
Mother Claimed She’ll Be Beaten Up If She Returns to Zhejiang
After trying, and failing, to contact his father, the teachers decide to contact the mother instead.
When she heard about the situation from the teachers, she simply told them that she could not return as she will be beaten up by other people if she does.
It was also reported that the father refused to come back and care for the son if the mother refuses to return.
I mean, fair’s fair, right? It’s not like you’re breaking your son’s heart there.

Parents Agreed to Come Fetch Him, But Didn’t Turn Up
The police managed to track down his parents after three days. It was discovered that the family has domestic dispute issues.
It turned out that they were both at Gui Zhou. The father has returned to his hometown and the mother has a new job in Gui Zhou.
The police instructed the parents to reconcile at the police station and bring Xiao Rong home and they agreed.
But they never turned up.
Ever since the incident, Xiao Rong allegedly withdrew into himself.
