Okay, seriously, what’s with fathers beating up boys?
And by that I don’t mean the “you better study hard” or “why are you lying” sort of justifications to go along with the beatings; something which I personally do not even condone.
Yesterday, my colleague shared the case of a father beating up a son and his wife.
The son had apparently bought home a packet of non-spicy fishballs (he had ordered spicy ones as per his father’s wish, but was given non-spicy ones by the hawker) and was beaten senselessly by his dad for it.
And for the wife?
When she tried to stop the senseless beating, she was placed in a chokehold and dragged away till kingdom come.
Well, there’s actually more to the story, but for that, go check out my colleague’s article.
Another Beating; Another Senseless Reason
Fast forward to 15 January, another beating took place closer to home.
As World of Buzz, Says.com and Sinchew.com reported, a man and four others he had roped in, assaulted a visibly terrified teenager in public, yelling at him while passersby watched on helplessly, on 11 January at an electronic game store in Palm Mall, Seremban.
The reason for the vicious assault: The victim had trounced the man’s son in a video game multiple times and had subsequently refused the man’s RM2 bribe, going on to beat his son in-game again.
Well of course, that’s surely a justified reason to beat up a stranger isn’t it?
And beat up he did; for the father soon became violent, threw a chair at the kid, kicked the kid several time, rallied the help of four man to assist- one of which whom launched a head-kick at the unsuspecting kid while he laid on the floor.
In this video by Twitter user Hilmi Adi Ruzaini, the assault is film from a bird’s eye view, probably taken from a higher level up in the mall:
Video taken by bystander on 13/1/2019 at Seremban.
A lone high school student was beaten up by 5 to 6 men just because of misunderstanding on electronic games.
The victim is in ICU due to broken ribs

The aftermath of the assault can be seen in this image showing the teenage boy lying on his back in the ICU of Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital.
He was reported to have suffered bruising across his body, punctured lungs, broken ribs, and a shattered spine.
Have I mentioned already? All this because of a video game.
Payback Time
Now although I would like very much to preach “turning the other cheek” for I am at heart a gentle pacifist, this case clearly calls for a warring “an eye for an eye” response.
Right?
As of now, four suspects are in remand and the police are still searching for the one remaining culprit who got away.
The case is reported to be investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting.
And while I’m not a legal expert, nor an expert at anything for that matter, methinks these 5 men ought to be charged for attempted murder, gangster-ism, and crimes of stupidity against humanity, their mothers, fathers and against Goody Feed.
To which end, the police are currently searching for the whereabouts of a witness, S. Munisvaran, 37, to assist in the investigation.
According to World of Buzz, “They have advised members of the public with information on the witness and the incident to call the investigating officer, Mohammad Najeeb Mohammed Shukri at 06-6033284.”
Now, if any Malaysians are reading this article, please help share this information and bring this last man into the loving arms of the law.
This case really brings a whole new meaning to ‘video game thrashing’ and we at Goody Feed wish the victim a speedy recovery.
